Energy efficiency optimization for cell-free massive MIMO

2017 IEEE 18th International Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications (SPAWC), 2017
This paper considers a time-division duplex cell-free massive multiple-input multiple-output downlink with imperfect channel station information and conjugate beamforming scheme. The total energy efficiency is investigated taking into account the hardware power consumption and the backhaul power consumption.

On the Performance of Multigroup Multicast Cell-Free Massive MIMO

IEEE Communications Letters, 2017
We investigate the performance of a multigroup multicast cell-free massive multiple-input multiple-output system where many access points (APs) multicast signals to many groups of users. A distributed conjugate beamforming with short-term power constraint (STPC) policy is proposed to use at the APs.

Performance Analysis of Cell-Free Massive MIMO-URLLC Systems Over Correlated Rician Fading Channels With Phase Shifts

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications
In the realm of industrial Internet of Things, the imperative for ultra-reliable and low-latency communication (URLLC) is underscored by the demand for up to 99.999% reliability and sub-microsecond latency.

Internet of Things Based on Cell-Free Massive MIMO

2019 53rd Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and Computers, 2019
We consider Internet of Things (IoT) organized on the principles of Cell-Free Massive MIMO. Since the number of things is very large, orthogonal pilots cannot be assigned to all of them even if the things are stationary. This results in an unavoidable pilot contamination problem, which is severe for IoT since the things are operating at very low ...

Iterative Interference Cancellation for Clustered Cell-Free Massive MIMO Networks

IEEE Wireless Communications Letters
In this letter, we propose an iterative soft interference cancellation scheme for intra-cluster (ICL) and out-of-cluster (OCL) interference mitigation in user-centric clustered cell-free massive multiple-antenna networks. We propose a minimum mean-square

Transformer-Based Power Optimization for Max-Min Fairness in Cell-Free Massive MIMO

IEEE Wireless Communications Letters
Power allocation is an important task in wireless communication networks. Classical optimization algorithms and deep learning methods, while effective in small and static scenarios, become either computationally demanding or unsuitable for large and ...

Channel Map-Based Angle Domain Multiple Access for Cell-Free Massive MIMO Communications

IEEE Journal on Selected Topics in Signal Processing
Being aware of the channel and its properties is critical for coherent transmission in massive multiple-input multiple-output (M-MIMO) systems due to the large channel dimension in the space domain.

Scalable Integrated Sensing and Communications for Multi-Target Detection and Tracking in Cell-Free Massive MIMO: A Unified Framework

IEEE Transactions on Communications
This paper investigates a cell-free massive MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) system where distributed access points (APs) perform integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) tasks, enabling simultaneous user communication and target detection ...

WMMSE-Based Processing in Cell-Free Massive MIMO Systems

IEEE Wireless Communications Letters
In this letter, we address the weighted sum-rate maximization problem in a cell-free massive multi-input multi-output (CF-mMIMO) system, subject to constraints on the minimum individual quality of service (QoS), maximum power consumption at each access ...
