SOD3 boosts T cell infiltration by normalizing the tumor endothelium and inducing laminin-α4

open access: yesOncoImmunology, 2020
The conversion of a non-T cell-inflamed into a T cell-inflamed tumor microenvironment (TME) is a key to sensitizing tumors to T-cell-based immunotherapies.

Early metastasis is characterized by Gr1+ cell dysregulation and is inhibited by immunomodulatory nanoparticles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer metastasis is associated with myeloid cell dysregulation and the lung‐specific accumulation of tumor‐supportive Gr1+ cells. Gr1+ cells support metastasis, in part, through a CHI3L1‐mediated mechanism, which can be targeted and inhibited with cargo‐free, polymeric nanoparticles.

Evaluation of soluble junctional adhesion molecule-A as a biomarker of human brain endothelial barrier breakdown [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Background: An inducible release of soluble junctional adhesion molecule-A (sJAM-A) under pro-inflammatory conditions was described in cultured non-CNS endothelial cells (EC) and increased sJAM-A serum levels were found to indicate inflammation in non ...

Detecting homologous recombination deficiency for breast cancer through integrative analysis of genomic data

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.

The neuronal cell adhesion molecule ICAM-5 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The neuronal cell adhesion molecule ICAM-5 ICAM-5 (telencephalin) belongs to the intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM)-subgroup of the immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF).

Pathologic evaluation of tumor-associated macrophage density and vessel inflammation in invasive breast carcinomas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are major constituents of the tumor microenvironment in solid tumors and have been implicated as mediators of tumor progression, invasion and metastasis.

Effect of Antibodies Against Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-1, B7, and CD40 on Interleukin-18-Treated Human Mixed Lymphocyte Reaction

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2005
The interleukin (IL)-18 level in plasma is elevated during the acute rejection after organ transplantation. IL-18 elicits adhesion molecule expression as well as interferon-γ/IL-12 production and T-cell proliferation in the human mixed lymphocyte ...
