Synechocystis strains deficient in succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) secrete more succinate than the WT under dark anaerobic conditions, supporting that SDH then primarily acts as SDH, not as a fumarate reductase. L‐aspartate oxidase (Laspo) from Synechocystis is functional under anaerobic conditions, reducing fumarate to succinate.

What Causes the Volatility of the Balancing Item? [PDF]
This paper analyzes the impacts of timing errors, capital flows and economic openness on the behavior of the balancing item. We choose Norway, Sweden, Philippines and South Africa as sample countries where the size of the balancing item is often excess ...

A Modularized Cell to Cell Battery Balancing System
In this paper, a novel modularized cell to cell battery balancing system is proposed. Battery energy is able to be transferred from any cell to any other cell in the battery string. Moreover, the balancing system is modularized, which will further reduce the cost of the system. The balancing working principle is analyzed.

Artificial molecular machines and motors—Design and control of nanoscale motion
Molecules are constantly moving because of thermal fluctuations, but random motion alone cannot be exploited to perform directional tasks. Artificial molecular machines use chemical, electrical, or light energy to bias this motion. Molecular shuttles, rotary motors, and supramolecular pumps illustrate how nanoscale movement can be controlled and ...

Active Charge Equalizer of Li-Ion Battery Cells Using Double Energy Carriers
In this work, a new active balancing circuit is proposed. This circuit consists of a cell-access network and an energy-transfer network. The cell-access network requires 2n + 6 switches, where n is the number of cells, and creates an energy-transfer path

Leucine‐rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI1) is a ganglioside‐binding protein
Neuronal hyperexcitability associated with a decrease/absence of the extracellular protein LGI1 has been suggested to be primarily due to the downregulation of Kv1 channel expression. The molecular mechanisms underlying this decrease have not yet been elucidated.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Efficiency of LiFePO4 Battery and Charger with Passive Balancing
This paper is intended as the first part of a two paper series that evaluate the efficiency of a battery pack with charger that has an integrated cell balancing method. For the first paper a simple passive balancing method is used while for the second an
