Activity of Sulfonium Bisphosphonates on Tumor Cell Lines [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2007
We investigated three series of sulfonium bisphosphonates for their activity in inhibiting the growth of three human tumor cell lines. The first series consisted of 6 cyclic sulfonium bisphosphonates, the most active species having an (average) IC50 of 89 microM.

Nestin expression in human tumors and tumor cell lines.

Neoplasma, 2010
The aim of this review is to summarize current knowledge on nestin expression in human tumors and corresponding tumor cell lines. Nestin belongs to class VI of the intermediate filaments and it is expressed primarily in mammalian nervous tissue during embryonic development. In adults, nestin occurs only in a small subset of cells and tissues.

dbl Oncogene Expression in Childhood Tumors and Tumor Cell Lines

Diagnostic Molecular Pathology, 1993
We studied the expression of the dbl oncogene in the total RNA obtained from a wide spectrum of childhood tumors, including Ewing's sarcomas, peripheral neuroectodermal tumors (PNET), esthesioneuroblastomas, neuroblastomas, retinoblastomas, rhabdomyosarcomas, osteosarcomas, and synovial sarcomas.

Clinical Scale Preparation of B Lymphoblastoid Cell Line-Tumor Cell Hybridoma Cells for Vaccination in Patients with Relapsed Ewing’s Sarcoma and Neuroblastoma.

, 2005
Despite improvements in survival for pediatric patients with cancer, for those with recurrent, high risk Ewing’s sarcoma (ES) or neuroblastoma (NB) treatment options are limited. Tumor-specific antigens in these malignancies are poorly characterized, and

Establishment of Tumor Cell Lines: From Primary Tumor Cells to a Tumor Cell Line

2018
Adequate cell lines and cell systems are the cornerstone of various research fields, with the aim of reflecting the tissue of origin as closely as possible in order to obtain optimal research conditions. Cell lines are defined as continuously growing cell cultures, with unlimited proliferation.

Overexpression of a transporter gene in a multidrug-resistant human lung cancer cell line.

Science, 1992
The doxorubicin-selected lung cancer cell line H69AR is resistant to many chemotherapeutic agents. However, like most tumor samples from individuals with this disease, it does not overexpress P-glycoprotein, a transmembrane transport protein that is ...

Development of tumor cell lines

Cancer Genetics and Cytogenetics, 1986
A number of techniques are now in use in attempting to establish cell lines from human solid tumors. Although short-term cultures are readily attained, relatively few become established as permanent cell lines, especially from primary carcinomas where metastasis has not already occurred and from such organs as the breast, prostate, and pancreas.

The probability of influence of the abscopal effect on reduction of similar far away 4T1 cell line tumors by irradiation of main tumor

, 2017
The most important problem with radiotherapy is the limitation of whole body irradiation of a metastatic patient. There are evidence showing that similar effect will occur in non-irradiated tumors similar to the irradiated ones.

Human pituitary tumors with two cell lines

Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, 1983
From the total material of 47 pituitary tumors, 42 had one cell line and five had two cell lines. The latter were found in tumors causing acromegaly either with secretion of growth hormone (GH) alone (n = 2) or in combination with prolactin (PRL) (n = 3).

Resistance of human tumor cell lines to antifolates

Cancer Treatment Reviews, 1984
Folate antagonists have over the last 30 years become increasingly important in the treatment of human cancer ( 18). However, only one of these agents, Methotrexate (MTX), can be considered as established in clinical use. Its use in chemotherapy of solid tumors and in maintenance therapy of lymphoblastic leukemia is widespread (12).
