Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Biophysical Properties of Blood Cells in People Aged 36–59 Years Under Mechanical Stress in vitro
The influence of the adenosine triphosphate molecule on cell signalling cascades under different physiological conditions, such as disrupted regeneration processes in the body, is of particular interest for scientists. The purpose of this research was to

Seasonal activity of frog erythrocytes by data of electrophoretic mobility [PDF]
The peculiarities of frog erythrocyte electrophoretic mobility, coupled to the seasonal course of temperatures, have been studied. At the periods of anabiosis and of burst of hemopoiesis, in the vascular bed there increases the portion of functionally ...

Role of Surface Electric Charge in Red Blood Cell Interactions [PDF]
The role of the surface charge of human red blood cells (RBC's) in affecting RBC aggregation by macromolecules was studied by comparing the behavior of normal RBC's with that of RBC's treated with neuraminidase, which removes the sialic acids from the cell membrane and reduces the zeta potential.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Benefits of oxygen and nitrogen plasma treatment in Vero cell affinity to poly(lactide-co-glycolide acid) [PDF]
Cell adhesion on materials surface is critical because this phenomenon occurs before other events, as cell spreading, cell migration and cell differentiation.

Zeta potential control for electrophoresis cells [PDF]
Zeta potential arises from fact that ions tend to be adsorbed on surface of cell walls. This potential interfaces with electric field sensed by migrating particles and degrades resolution of separation.

Homogenization of the Poisson-Nernst-Planck Equations for Ion Transport in Charged Porous Media [PDF]
Effective Poisson-Nernst-Planck (PNP) equations are derived for macroscopic ion transport in charged porous media under periodic fluid flow by an asymptotic multi-scale expansion with drift.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
