Homeostasis of cell wall damps and role in the growth-defense trade-off [PDF]
Oligosaccharides derived from plant cell walls may activate plant immunity and behave as typical endogenous elicitors referred to as “damage-associated molecular patterns” (DAMPs).

Blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum) undergo significant texture changes during development and ripening, notably a consistent decrease in firmness, which affects fruit quality, consumer preference, transportability, and shelf life. This study examined the

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

A core of cell wall proteins functions in wall integrity responses in Arabidopsis thaliana
Cell walls surround all plant cells, and their composition and structure are tightly regulated to maintain cellular and organismal homeostasis. In response to wall damage, the cell wall integrity (CWI) system is engaged to ameliorate effects on plant ...

Cell-cell communication in the vessel wall [PDF]
Intercellular communication between cells within the blood vessel wall plays an important role in the control of artery diameter. The endothelial cells lining the lumen of arteries can evoke smooth muscle hyperpolarization both by the release of a factor (EDHF) and by direct cell-cell coupling through gap junctions. Hyperpolarizing

Regulation of bacterial cell wall growth
During growth and propagation, a bacterial cell enlarges and subsequently divides its peptidoglycan (PG) sacculus, a continuous mesh‐like layer that encases the cell membrane to confer mechanical strength and morphological robustness.
