Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

An Efficient Beam Training Technique for Millimeter-Wave Cellular Communications [PDF]

open access: yesETRI Journal, 2015
In this paper, a beam ID preamble (BIDP) technique, where the beam ID is transmitted in the physical layer, is proposed for efficient beam training in millimeter-wave (mmWave) cellular communication systems. In order to facilitate beam ID detection in a multicell environment with multiple beams, the BIDP is designed such that the beam ID is mapped onto

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Large-Scale MIMO versus Network MIMO for Multicell Interference Mitigation

open access: yes, 2014
This paper compares two important downlink multicell interference mitigation techniques, namely, large-scale (LS) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and network MIMO. We consider a cooperative wireless cellular system operating in time-division duplex

A FE parametric study of RWS beam-to-column bolted connections with cellular beams [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Constructional Steel Research, 2016
In recent years, researchers study alternative connection designs for steel seismic-resistant frames by reducing the beam section in different ways including that of creating an opening in its web (RWS connections). A similar design is applied in the fabrication of perforated (i.e.
