Analysis of foamed glass structure under thermal shocks and their impact on local breaking strength
This paper deals with heat transfer inside cellular solids (foamed glass insulation) under thermal shock and the impact of transient temperature fields on the local integrity (strength) of the structure.

Motility-driven glass and jamming transitions in biological tissues
Cell motion inside dense tissues governs many biological processes, including embryonic development and cancer metastasis, and recent experiments suggest that these tissues exhibit collective glassy behavior.

Millisecond single-molecule localization microscopy combined with convolution analysis and automated image segmentation to determine protein concentrations in complexly structured, functional cells, one cell at a time [PDF]
We present a single-molecule tool called the CoPro (Concentration of Proteins) method that uses millisecond imaging with convolution analysis, automated image segmentation and super-resolution localization microscopy to generate robust estimates for ...

Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Compression-compression fatigue of Pd_(43)Ni_(10)Cu_(27)P_(20) metallic glass foam [PDF]
Compression-compression fatigue testing of metallic-glass foam is performed. A stress-life curve is constructed, which reveals an endurance limit at a fatigue ratio of about 0.1.

Nanomechanical and topographical imaging of living cells by Atomic Force Microscopy with colloidal probes [PDF]
Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) has a great potential as a tool to characterize mechanical and morphological properties of living cells; these properties have been shown to correlate with cells' fate and patho-physiological state in view of the development

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.
