Relationship between Length and Degree of Polymerization of TEMPO-Oxidized Cellulose Nanofibrils
The influence of 2,2,6,6-tetrametylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO)-mediated oxidation of wood cellulose and the mechanical disintegration of oxidized cellulose in water on degree of polymerization determined by viscosity measurement (DPv) and the apparent ...

Formation of Carbonyl and Carboxyl Groups on Cellulosic Pulps: Effect on Alkali Resistance
Ozone bleaching generates carbonyl groups on the cellulose polymer when applied to unbleached kraft pulps. This suggests that pulp fully bleached with a totally chlorine-free (TCF) sequence may contain more oxidized groups than standard elemental ...

Blood Compatibility of Oxidized Bacterial Cellulose/Silk Fibroin Composite Membrane
In this work, the oxidized bacterial cellulose (BC) was modified by silk fibroin (SF) to improve its blood compatibility. The oxidized BC pellicles were added to the aqueous silk fibroin solution containing crosslinking agents at room temperature for ...

CXCL16 and oxLDL are induced in the onset of diabetic nephropathy
Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a major cause of end-stage renal failure worldwide. Oxidative stress has been reported to be a major culprit of the disease and increased oxidized low density lipoprotein (oxLDL) immune complexes were found in patients with ...

Dexime: A Selectively Enzyme‐Degradable Hydrogel for Protein Therapeutic Release
A dextrin‐oxime hydrogel (dexime) is produced using ketone or aldehyde modified dextrin and tetra‐oxyamine modified poly(ethylene glycol). The rheological and mechanical properties of dexime are tunable. Dexime is injectable, cytocompatible, hydrolytically stable, and selectively degradable by α‐amylase.
