Adhesion between Cellulosic Fibers in Paper

Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology, 2011
The function of water in the adhesion between wet cellulose fibers both in the assembly of papers and the establishment of the properties is discussed. The contributions of friction and hydrogen bonds are reviewed, together with the new concept of interfiber ordered water structure created by the hydrophilic surfaces of the fibers.

Conversion of Cellulose-based Papers into Functional Ceramic Papers

2022
Paper has been used for thousands of years, be it as a writing utensil like Papyrus or in different applications, for example as cellulose-based nanogenerators, as shape memory polymers, or as membranes for wound healing. Its microstructure shows randomly arranged fibers consisting of cellulose.

Cellulose-chitosan blended electroactive paper actuator

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
Cellulose based Electro-Active Paper (EAPap) has been reported as a smart material that has merits in terms of lightweight, dry condition, biodegradability, sustainability, large displacement output and low actuation voltage. However, its actuator performance is sensitive to humidity: its maximum bending performance was shown at high humidity ...
