Synthetic Study of Sarcophytol A, an Anticarcinogenic Cembranoid.

open access: yesJournal of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan, 1995
The first total synthesis of sarcophytol A, an anticarcinogenic marine cembranoid, was achieved in a highly stereo- and enantioselective manner starting with (E, E)-farnesol ; it includes : 1) a newly developed Z-selective (Z : E=>35 : 1) Horner-Emmons reaction using a phosphonate nitrile, 2) a modified cyanohydrin macrocyclization, and 3) an ...

Three new diterpenes from a soft coral Nephthea species [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Two new cembranoid diterpenes and a non-cembranoid diterpene have been isolated from a soft coral Nephthea species along with two previously reported diterpenes (1) and (9).

Lobophytones A−G, New Isobiscembranoids from the Soft Coral Lobophytum pauciflorum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Seven new biscembranoids, lobophytones A−G (1−7), together with three known biscembranes were isolated from the Chinese soft coral Lobophytum pauciflorum.

Feasibility of metabolomic analysis in assessing coral reefs environments.

open access: yesSqualen, 2010
This study aimed to explain the feasibility of fingerprint and chemical marker metabolomicanalysis in assessment of coral reefs environments. Based on literature review, both analysismight be implemented on coral reef environment assessment, with their ...

Synthesis and stereochemistry of sarcophytol B: An anticancer cembranoid

open access: yesTetrahedron Letters, 1989
Abstract A short (5 step), efficient synthesis of sarcophytol B (1) from farnesal is reported using a low-temperature, titanium-induced pinacol coupling reaction of 1,14-dialdehyde5 as the key step. An X-ray structure determination showed that sarcophytol B has trans diol stereochemistry.

Investigation and total assignment of the 13C-NMR spectra of the cembranoid diterpenes sinularin, dihydrosinularin, eunicin and jeunicin [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
Marine invertebrates of the phylum Coelenterata have been found to contain a variety of cembranoid diterpenes of chemical, biological and spectroscopic interest. The cembranes selected for this study include sinularin and di hydrosinularin extracted from
