Temporal Interference Stimulation Enhances Neural Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Temporal interference (TI) stimulation is proposed as a non‐invasive approach to enhance neural regeneration in the deep brain. Theta‐band TI modulation selectively promotes neural progenitor cell differentiation in vitro and augments hippocampal neurogenesis in amouse model of Alzheimer's disease‐like amyloidosis.

Effect of Eggshell Powder on the Hydration of Cement Paste [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2019
Eggshells are one of the solid wastes in the world and are considered hazardous according to European Commission regulations. The utilization of solid wastes, like eggshells, will help create a sustainable environment by minimizing the solid wastes that are disposed into the environment. The utilization of eggshell powder in cement also helps to reduce

Friend, Not Foe: Lowered Tissue Reactivity to Long‐Term Polyimide Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The choice of optimal neural probe designs remains a major challenge in the field of neurotechnology. This study investigated the biocompatibility of several probe variations, including material, thickness, width, and implantation strategy. It highlights the clear advantage of soft polyimide probes over stiff silicon probes for better device ...

Hydration Behavior of Tricalcium Silicate in Seawater Relevant Salt Systems: A Hybrid Study with the Aid of Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The hydration behavior of C3S in seawater‐relevant solutions is studied based on experiments, boundary nucleation and growth (BNG) modeling, and machine learning. The main ions included in seawater modify hydration mechanisms, with MgCl2 showing the strongest acceleration effect at the same concentration.

THE CONSISTENCY OF CEMENT PASTES AND THEIR RHEOLOGICAL PARAMETERS

open access: yesActa Scientiarum Polonorum. Formatio Circumiectus, 2016

The effects of complex glyoxal based modifiers on properties of cement paste and hardened cement paste [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
This paper presents the results of research on the effect of organic and glyoxal containing additives on the properties of cement paste and hardened cement paste. Complex modifying additives based on liquid glyoxal increasing the strength of the cement paste by 35-63% were developed.

Stress development at the cement paste-steel interface for thin cement paste coatings

open access: yesCement and Concrete Research, 1989
Abstract A novel technique for determining the development of stress at the steel-cement interface for thin cement paste coatings is briefly described. A series of interfacial stress-hydration time curves are presented for three matrix systems: cement + silica fume, cement + calcium carbonate, and tricalcium aluminate + gypsum.
