Evidence for facultative apomixis in Cenchrus ciliaris
Euphytica, 1978The nature and behaviour of crosses between Cenchrus ciliaris and C. setigerus indicate that facultative apomixis occurs in C. ciliaris, in addition to the previously reported obligate sexual and apomictic states.

Cytogeography of Cenchrus ciliaris (Poaceae) in Tunisia

Continuous grazing on Cenchrus ciliarus.
African Journal of Range and Forage Science, 1979Breeding cattle grazed Cenchrus ciliaris continuously for four years. Excellent calving percentages (mean 95, 25%) and good weaning masses (mean 245 kg) were obtained, the A.D.G.'s being 0, 963 kg for heifers and 1, 075 kg for bulls. The system was planned to eliminate grazing management as a factor. Keywords: botany; breeding; bulls; calving ...
