Semiparametric linear regression with censored data and stochastic regressors [PDF]
We propose three new estimation procedures in the linear regression model with randomly-right censored data when the distribution function of the error term is unspecified, regressors are stochastic and the distribution function of the censoring variable

Dementia Incidence in Individuals With Parkinson's Disease in the Framingham Heart Study
ABSTRACT Limited information exists on incident dementia in individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) in US community‐based samples. We examined cognitive statuses and PD diagnoses of 183 individuals in the Framingham Heart Study (FHS) to establish incident dementia, mortality rates, associations with sex, age at PD onset, and education level.

A-Spline Regression for Fitting a Nonparametric Regression Function with Censored Data
This paper aims to solve the problem of fitting a nonparametric regression function with right-censored data. In general, issues of censorship in the response variable are solved by synthetic data transformation based on the Kaplan–Meier estimator in the

The Log-Beta Generalized Half-Normal Regression Model [PDF]
We introduce a log-linear regression model based on the beta generalized half-normal distribution (Pescim et al., 2010).We formulate and develop a log-linear model using a new distribution so-called the log-beta general- ized half normal distribution. We ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) have demonstrated significant weight‐reducing effects and may offer benefits in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH); however, recent concerns about the risk of non‐arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) have emerged.

ABSTRACT Objective We aim to comprehensively analyze how regional tumor and edema characteristics are associated with clinical presentations and survival outcomes in a large cohort of glioblastoma patients. Methods Patients with IDH‐wildtype glioblastoma who received brain MRI from 2010 to 2023 were included.

Checking semiparametric transformation models with censored data [PDF]
Semiparametric transformation models provide a very general framework for studying the effects of (possibly time-dependent) covariates on survival time and recurrent event times. Assessing the adequacy of these models is an important task because model misspecification affects the validity of inference and the accuracy of prediction.

Clinical Impact of NOTCH3 Variant Location After First Stroke in CADASIL
ABSTRACT Objective Despite its monogenic origin, Cerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy with Subcortical Infarcts and Leukoencephalopathy exhibits marked variability in clinical expression and severity. Variants in the NOTCH3 gene, within epidermal growth factor‐like repeat domains 1–6 or 7–34, are known to influence disease onset, but their impact ...

Toward improved statistical methods for analyzing Cotinine-Biomarker health association data
Background Serum cotinine, a metabolite of nicotine, is frequently used in research as a biomarker of recent tobacco smoke exposure. Historically, secondhand smoke (SHS) research uses suboptimal statistical methods due to censored serum cotinine values ...
