Image annotation using Principal component analysis of Census Transform

2010 10th International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications, 2010
In this paper we propose the method that extracts the semantic keyword from digital images automatically using color and texture features. The image semantic keyword is widely used in research area like image retrieval, categorization, annotation, management. The method consists of two steps: feature extraction and classification module.

Informative census transform for very low-resolution image representation

The 23rd IEEE International Symposium on Robot and Human Interactive Communication, 2014
Our paper newly presents unsupervised feature representation method for very low-resolution (VLR) images called informative census transform (ICT) based on statistical analysis of CT binary features and submodular optimization. A new cost function is designed to measure the informativeness of each binary feature: (1) an individual informativeness of ...

Color rank and census transforms using perceptual color contrast

2010 11th International Conference on Control Automation Robotics & Vision, 2010
Rank and census transforms provide high resistance to radiometric distortion, vignette, and noise because they are based on the relative ordering of local pixel intensity values rather than the pixel values themselves. These transforms are widely used in many computer vision applications. An important step of computing these transforms is to compare or

Transforming the spatial basis of agricultural census cover data

Soil Use and Management, 1995
Abstract. Land cover data from the June agricultural census of England and Wales have historically been published annually at the parish level. This level of spatial resolution masks heterogeneity of land use within parishes, limiting the value of the data for detailed spatial analyses.

Efficient Computation of Optical Flow Using the Census Transform

2004
This paper presents an approach for the estimation of visual motion over an image sequence in real-time. A new algorithm is proposed which solves the correspondence problem between two images in a very efficient way. The method uses the Census Transform as the representation of small image patches.

Implementation of Improved Census Transform Stereo Matching on a Multicore Processor

2013
Traditionally, sub-pixel interpolation in stereo-vision systems has been used for the block-matching algorithm. In this paper, Census transform algorithm which has been on area-based matching algorithm is improved and it’s compared with existing census transform algorithm.

Stereo matching based on census transformation of image gradients

SPIE Proceedings, 2015
Although multiple-view matching provides certain significant advantages regarding accuracy, occlusion handling and radiometric fidelity, stereo-matching remains indispensable for a variety of applications; these involve cases when image acquisition requires fixed geometry and limited number of images or speed.

Robust Face Recognition Using The Modified Census Transform

2007 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies, 2007
Many algorithms do not work well in real-world systems as real-world systems have problems with illumination variation and imperfect detection of face and eyes. In this paper, we compare the illumination normalization methods (SQI, HE, GIC), and the feature extraction methods (PCA, LDA, 2dPCA, 2dLDA, B2dLDA) using Yale B database and ETRJ database.

Multi-scale Integral Modified Census Transform for Eye Detection

2012
In this paper, we propose a multi-scale integral modified census transform (MsiMCT) for eye detection. Modified census transform shows a good classification performance. However, it does not represent block properties. We therefore consider a method for overcoming this limitation.
