NANOSTRUCTURAL PROCESSES OF MELTING, CRYSTALLIZATION AND MODIFYINGS OF METALS
It is shown that melting, crystallization and modifying of metals are difficult nanostructural processes. The nanocrystals and atoms of metals, the centers of crystallization of dendrites, surface-active elements, gases modifying elements, poorly soluble

Influence of Chemical Composition on Concentration Undercooling of Structural Steels [PDF]
The article studies the undercooling of steel melt around the solid particles, which is one of the main factors determining the rates of nucleation and growth of crystallization centers. Particularly, the effect of chemical composition on this factor for

NANOSTRUCTURAL PROCESSES OF MELTING AND MOULDING OF STEEL
It is shown that melting and molding of steel are difficult physical and chemical nanostructural processes. In them the major role is played by the centers of crystallization of dendrites of austenite, austenite nanocrystals, the dissolved and adsorbed ...

Structural stability during remelting of foundry binary alloys
A nanostructural mechanism of structural stability during remelting of foundry binary alloys has been developed. This mechanism is determined by the stability of the centers of crystallization of microcrystals of α‑phases and β‑phases.

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Two‐dimensional crystallization of reaction centers from Chloroflexus aurantiacus
Two‐dimensional crystals of photosynthetic reaction centers from Chloroflexus aurantiacus were obtained from protein‐lipid‐detergent micelles by detergent dialysis. The size of crystals was up to 2 μm. Some of them were multilayered crystals. However, other crystal forms were also observed.

Microstructure Design of Steel‐Spinel Composites via Spark Plasma Sintering Process
This study illustrates how spark plasma sintering at reduced oxygen partial pressure enables controlled formation of steel‐spinel composites through tailored redox reactions and cation exchange. Comparison of the MgO–Fe2O3, steel–(MgO+Cr2O3), and steel–(MgO+Fe2O3) systems shows how oxygen activity and interface chemistry govern spinel formation, phase ...

HYPEREUTECTIC SILUMIN.NANOSTRUCTURAL PROCESSES OF MELTING AND MOULDING
It is shown that melting and molding of hypereutectic silumin are complicated physical and chemical nanostructural processes. The major part at these processes is played by the centers of crystallization of primary crystals of silicon, silicon ...
