Generalized Centrality Aggregation and Exclusive Centrality [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
There are several applications that benefit from a definition of centrality which is applicable to sets of vertices, rather than individual vertices. However, existing definitions might not be able to help us in answering several network analysis questions.

Central Peripheries

open access: yes, 2021
Central Peripheries explores post-Soviet Central Asia through the prism of nation-building. Although relative latecomers on the international scene, the Central Asian states see themselves as globalized, and yet in spite of – or perhaps precisely because of – this, they hold a very classical vision of the nation-state, rejecting the abolition of ...

Ablation of LRP6 in alpha‐smooth muscle actin‐expressing cells abrogates lung inflammation and fibrosis upon bleomycin‐induced lung injury

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 6 (LRP6) is a key receptor for the Wnt antagonist Dickkopf1 (DKK1). DKK1 protein expression is induced in a bleomycin (BLM)‐induced lung injury model. We show that DKK1 induces proinflammatory and profibrotic genes in lung fibroblasts.

A seven-toed central polydactyl in an adult: A neglected, unclassifiable case

open access: yesArchives of Clinical and Experimental Surgery, 2017
The aim of this study was to present a neglected, unclassifiable case that involved a central type polydactyl adult with 7 toes and metatarsals, 4 cuneiforms and 1 cuboid.

Centrality Measures in Complex Networks: A Survey [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
In complex networks, each node has some unique characteristics that define the importance of the node based on the given application-specific context. These characteristics can be identified using various centrality metrics defined in the literature. Some of these centrality measures can be computed using local information of the node, such as degree ...

An Axiom System for Feedback Centralities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In recent years, the axiomatic approach to centrality measures has attracted attention in the literature. However, most papers propose a collection of axioms dedicated to one or two considered centrality measures. In result, it is hard to capture the differences and similarities between various measures.

Central galaxies in different environments: Do they have similar properties? [PDF]

open access: yes2014, ApJ, 788, 29, 2013
We perform an exhaustive comparison among central galaxies from SDSS catalogs in different local environments at 0.01<=z<=0.08. The central galaxies are separated into two categories: group centrals (host halos containing satellites) and field centrals (host halos without satellites).

Is Banking Supervision Central to Central Banking? [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 1998
Whether central banks should play an active role in bank supervision and regulation is being debated both in the United States and abroad. While the Bank of England has recently been stripped of its supervisory responsibilities and several proposals in the United States have advocated removing bank supervision from the Federal Reserve System, other ...

Structural and mechanistic basis for the regulation of the chloroplast signal recognition particle by (p)ppGpp

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LHCPs are transported to the thylakoid membrane via the (cp)SRP pathway. This process involves a transit complex of (cp)SRP43, (cp)SRP54 and LHCP, which interacts with (cp)FtsY and Alb3 at the membrane. GTP hydrolysis by (cp)SRP54 and (cp)FtsY triggers complex dissociation.
