"Good governance" in monetary policy and the negative real effects of inflation targeting in developing economies [PDF]
This paper analyzes the growth effects of inflation targeting regimes in emerging market economies. In particular, it focuses on the case of three Latin American economies where the inflation targeting framework has been implemented, namely Brazil, Chile

Diabetic bone marrow exhibits pathological ECM hyperviscosity that activates TRPV2‐mediated Ca2⁺ influx, leading to perinuclear F‐actin disassembly, nuclear deformation, and chromatin condensation. This cytoskeletal‐nuclear decoupling suppresses osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.

The StERF10‐StGSH1 module coordinates glutathione (GSH) biosynthesis under low‐phosphorus stress. The low‐phosphate‐induced AP2/ERF transcription factor StERF10 directly activates the transcription of StGSH1 and enhances GSH accumulation. Consequently, GSH scavenges reactive oxygen species and provides sulfur for sulfolipid synthesis, facilitating the ...

Estimating the output gap in times of COVID-19
We extend a standard multivariate filter used to estimate the Output Gap (OG) in Chile to account for large economic shocks, such as those observed during the COVID-19 crisis. We propose two methodological extensions. First, we introduce exogenous supply

Hyperdroughts in central Chile: Drivers, Impacts and Projections
Abstract. Owing to the Mediterranean-like and highly variable climate of western South America, moderate droughts (20–30 % precipitation deficit) recur every 3–5 years in central Chile, alternating with wet years. Since 2010, however, this region has experienced a continuous dry spell, including extremely dry conditions in 2019 and 2021, when annual ...

Decoding Human Placental Cellular and Molecular Responses to Obesity and Fetal Growth
Women with obesity often deliver large‐for‐gestational‐age (LGA) infants. Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing of term placenta reveals that hypoxia and TNF‐α signaling in syncytiotrophoblasts are featured in maternal obesity, but inflammatory signatures in Hofbauer cells and response to lipid or carbohydrate metabolism in fibroblasts are specific to LGA.

Seasonal cold adaptation is vital for insect survival, yet the molecular mechanisms linking diapause to mitochondrial resilience remain largely unresolved. We identify ascaroside C9 (asc‐C9) as a key endocrine signal that enhances diapause survival during cold stress by activating the AKHR–PGC1α–UCP4 axis, thereby driving cold‐induced lipolysis and ...
