Abstract In this work, the removal of cephalexin (CEX) from aqueous solutions using the anodic oxidation process was studied and four significant independent variables including contact time, pH, current density (CD), and initial CEX concentration were optimized using response surface methodology (RSM) involving a five-level central composite design (

Abstract Based on the nutritional and physiological requirements of a native hydrocarbon-degrading bacterium (HDB), Serratia marcescens, an investigation on the potential biosurfactant production by this bacterial species was conducted. The effects of different carbon sources, nitrogen sources, salinity, pH, temperature, and agitation speeds were ...

Imposing D-optimality criterion on the design regions of the Central Composite Designs (CCD)
Scientia Africana, 2017The effect of D-optimality criterion in the construction of N-point exact designs on the design regions of the face-centered central composite design, rotatable (circumscribed) central composite design and inscribed central composite design, respectively, is investigated using a second order response surface model.

In the present investigation, amoxicillin loaded mucoadhesive microspheres were prepared and characterized. The prepared formulation was optimized using two factorial three level central composite experimental design employing response surface methodology. Drug loading (%), and concentration of HPMC (%) were chosen as independent variables.
