Physics‐Constrained Constitutive Learning of Rate‐Limiting Timescales for Efficient Hydrogen‐Based Direct Reduction for Green Steel Making

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conversion‐resolved constitutive framework is developed for the hydrogen‐based direct reduction of iron oxide pellets. Effective reaction and transport timescales are inferred directly from measured trajectories and mapped against operating conditions, pellet architecture, and composition. The analysis reveals how late‐stage transport control emerges

Gender Differences Relating to Metabolic Syndrome and Proinflammation in Finnish Subjects with Elevated Blood Pressure

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 2009
Fasting insulin, adiponectin, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), and interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra) were determined in 278 men and 273 women with blood pressure ≥130 and/or ≥85 mmHg and/or with antihypertensive medication ...

Typology of farms in Central Finland

open access: yesFennia: International Journal of Geography, 1971
The purpose of the study was to examine the suitability of multivariate analysis for identifying farm typology in central Finland. On the basis of factor analysis, it was possible to interpret four multi‑dimensional factors. The first represented size and wealth, the second traditionalism, the third pensionary and the fourth work away from the farm ...

Formation of a cultivated spodosol in east-central Finland

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 2008
The processes involved in Spodosol (Podzol) formation are still being debated. The pedogenic processes in a Spodosol, 10,700 years-old, at Sotkamo that has been cultivated for about 50 years were studied by characterizing the morphology and analyzing the major chemical properties, texture and mineralogy.

Probing Type‐II Multiferroicity in Monolayer NiBr2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Type‐II multiferroicity is demonstrated in monolayer NiBr2. Scanning tunneling microscopy resolves ferroelectric polarization arising from non‐collinear magnetic order, and reciprocal control with electric and magnetic fields confirms intrinsic magnetoelectric coupling.

Colonic Involvement in a Patient with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia

open access: yesGastroenterology Research and Practice, 2008
Various gastrointestinal infiltrations have been described in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL). Here, we report a 69-year-old man with CLL and anaemia in whom the macroscopic finding of colonoscopy was normal, but the histological ...

A Site‐Aware Representation Learning Framework For Unified Molecular Interaction Modeling and Generative Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MolDBG is a site‐aware, sequence‐only framework that unifies drug‐target affinity prediction, binding‐site identification, and affinity‐conditioned molecular generation for structured proteins. Guided by multi‐task binding‐site supervision, it aligns interaction‐critical residues before learning drug‐target representations and simultaneously infers ...

A State‐Gated Metallo‐DNAzyme Framework Programs Tumor Stress Vulnerability Through Metabolic Licensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A tumor‐state‐gated metallo‐DNAzyme framework integrates miR‐21/APE1‐responsive GLUT1 silencing with Ca/Cu‐partitioned metal–nucleic acid assembly and cystine loading. The framework first weakens glucose‐dependent metabolic buffering and then amplifies copper‐ and disulfide‐associated stress, converting tumor metabolic adaptation into programmable ...

Finland benefits from Eurosystem’s securities purchases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The effects of the Eurosystem’s expanded asset purchase programme (EAPP) are already visible on the financial markets. The achievements of the programme are, however, only intermediate goals from a central bank perspective, through which the effects of ...
