The emplacement and deformation of granitic rocks in a transpressional shear zone: the ox mountains igneous complex [PDF]
The structural evolution of the Ox Mountains Granodiorite {478±12Ma) during and after its emplacement is described. This pluton has been emplaced within and synchronously with, a major transpressional shear zone which is expressed as a 11km wide belt of ...

Early Bronze Age Copper Circulation in the Guadalentín and Segura Valleys (SE Spain)
ABSTRACT Identifying the sources of copper used in Early Bronze Age metalwork from south‐east Spain is key to resolving a long‐running debate concerning centralized control, or lack thereof, over El Argar society's economic organisation. This study provides the first substantial integrated programme of EDXRF and MC‐ICP‐MS analyses for copper‐base ...

Can the Iberian Finisterra Terrane extends until Central Europe Variscides? [PDF]
The Finisterra Terrane is located in the western sector of the Iberian Variscides and its eastern boundary is a N-S to NNW-SSE lithospheric structure, the Porto-Tomar-Ferreira do Alentejo Shear Zone (PTFSZ).

Palynological records are central to the biostratigraphic subdivision of the Late Pleistocene in central Europe. Yet many interglacial and interstadial phases—such as the Eemian, Brörup and Odderade—remain only poorly constrained in time due to limited numerical dating.

Abstract Biodiversity is globally threatened by human impacts, including land‐use transformation and climate change, which has prompted a rapid transition from fossil fuels to cleaner energy sources, such as photovoltaic (PV) energy. However, utility‐scale PV plants require vast areas and can lead to conflicts with biodiversity conservation, making ...

Trace amounts of alluvial xenotime (YPO4) were identified in black sands from pan concentrates collected during a rare earth reconnaissance survey, carried by the Instituto Geológico e Mineiro (IGM) in Central Eastern Portugal. The xenotime occurs as sub-rounded grains with an average size of ≈ 250 mm, and its identification was confirmed through XRD ...

True dung beetles are a speciose group of ecosystem engineers that play key roles as detritivores in natural and agricultural landscapes. Scarabaeine beetles show strong thermal plasticity and there is increasing evidence of rapid evolutionary divergence in response to temperature across ecological and evolutionary timescales, with likely consequences ...

We assessed alpha‐ and beta‐diversity patterns of spiders across different forests and across vegetation layers (ground, shrub, low canopy) at local spatial scales across various Mediterranean forest types. Across forests, alpha‐diversity increased with habitat heterogeneity, which also drove beta‐diversity patterns across plots .
