Trade, instititutions and export specialization. [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper studies whether trade integration between the EU15 and Central Europe has led to more export specialization in Central Europe. Moreover, we analyze the impact of institutional reforms in Central Europe on export specialization.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Extreme Value Index Estimators and Smoothing Alternatives: A Critical Review [PDF]

open access: yes
Extreme-value theory and corresponding analysis is an issue extensively applied in many different fields. The central point of this theory is the estimation of a parameter γ, known as the extreme-value index. In this paper we review several extreme-value

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

International Financial Aggregation and Index Number Theory: A Chronological Half-Century Empirical Overview. [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper comprises a survey of a half century of research on international monetary aggregate data. We argue that since monetary assets began yielding interest, the simple sum monetary aggregates have had no foundations in economic theory and have ...

KSC Centralized Index Model in Complex Network

open access: yesJournal of Networks, 2014
To dig potential spread nodes in a complex network mainly relies on using centralized indicators such as the node degree, closeness, betweenness and K-shell to evaluate spread node, which causes that the excavation accuracy is not high and adaptability not strong and induces other shortcomings, therefore this paper proposes KSC of centering indicator ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Association of Triglyceride-Glucose Index with Central Adiposity and Hand Grip Strength in Patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

open access: yesIndian Journal of Medical Specialities
Introduction: Insulin resistance (IR) is a central mechanism of sarcopenic obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The association of triglyceride-glucose index (TyG index) with central adiposity and skeletal muscle strength in T2DM has been a ...

Limit theorems for weighted Bernoulli random fields under Hannan's condition

open access: yes, 2015
Consider a Bernoulli random field satisfying the Hannan's condition. Recently, invariance principles for partial sums of random fields over rectangular index sets are established.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
