ASSESSMENT OF KNOWLEDGE AMONG NURSES REGARDING CENTRAL LINE ASSOCIATION BLOOD STREAM INFECTION

open access: yesBiological and Clinical Sciences Research Journal
Central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) pose a serious health risk in hospital settings, leading to increased morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. Nurses play a crucial role in CLABSI prevention; however, knowledge gaps can hinder their ability to adhere to best practices, especially in resource-limited settings like Pakistan ...

Large‐Scale Applications of Plasma Technologies: Progresses and Challenges

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plasma technologies convert electrical power into energetic electrons, ions, reactive species, radiation and heat, thereby breaking through the bottleneck of purely thermal or chemical routes and bringing impressive changes to our world. This roadmap reviews the progress and challenges of plasma technologies from a large‐scale and application ...

Evidence of parental care as a newly identified reproductive isolating barrier

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, EarlyView.
Behavioural variation can contribute to reproductive isolation and can be an important driver of speciation. Here, we show that a previously undescribed mechanism, parental care, can function as a postzygotic reproductive isolating barrier when dysregulated in hybrids.

The Incidence Rate of Central Line-associated Blood Stream Infections Related to Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters and Its Related Factors in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Holistic Nursing and Midwifery
Introduction: Preventing the incidence of central line-associated blood stream infections (CLABSI) related to peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) is a top priority in the neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), as it can reduce mortality ...

Can a Shorter Dwell Time Reduce Infective Complications Associated with the Use of Umbilical Catheters?

open access: yesAntibiotics
Background: Umbilical venous catheters (UVCs) are the standard of care in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) to administer fluids, parenteral nutrition and medications, although complications may occur, including central line-associated blood stream ...

Deconstruction of central line insertion guidelines based on the positive deviance approach-Reducing gaps between guidelines and implementation: A qualitative ethnographic research.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
BackgroundDespite a proven association between the implementation of prevention guidelines for central line associated blood stream infections (CLABSI) and reduction in CLABSI rates, in practice there is poor adherence.

125 years of exploration and research at Gough's Cave (Somerset, UK) 125 ans d'exploration et de recherches à Gough's Cave (Somerset, Royaume‐Uni)

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, EarlyView.
Our understanding of the recolonization of northwest Europe in the period leading up to the Lateglacial Interstadial relies heavily on discoveries from Gough's Cave (Somerset, UK). Gough's Cave is the richest Late Upper Palaeolithic site in the British Isles, yielding an exceptional array of human remains, stone and organic artefacts, and butchered ...
