Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.

Clinical and molecular epidemiology of invasive Staphylococcus aureus infection in Utah children; continued dominance of MSSA over MRSA.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
BackgroundInvasive Staphylococcus aureus infections are a common cause of morbidity and mortality in children. In the early 2000's the proportion of infections due the methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) increased rapidly.

Central line-associated blood stream infections in newborns: From vulnerability to prevention

open access: yesSeminars in Fetal and Neonatal Medicine
Newborns, especially preterm infants, are vulnerable to invasive infections due to their developing immune system and frequent need for central venous catheters. Central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) are among the most common invasive infections in this population and represent the leading cause of neonatal bloodstream infection in ...

Review of Gastrointestinal Capsule Robots: Materials, Actuation, Diagnostics, and Therapeutics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review examines gastrointestinal capsule robots through a systems engineering lens, covering shell materials, actuation and localization strategies, diagnostic modalities, therapeutic interventions, and commercialization status. By mapping the complete technological chain from fabrication to clinical deployment, this work identifies critical gaps ...

Reducing CLABSI through a quality strategy for the implementation of the aseptic non-touch technique in a pediatric ward

open access: yesBoletín Médico del Hospital Infantil de México
Background: Central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) are among the most epidemiologically relevant health care-associated infections. The aseptic non-touch technique (ANTT) is a standardized practice used to prevent CLABSIs.

Gestational Hypoxia Disrupts Medial Ganglionic Eminence Progenitor Dynamics and Interneuron Development in Schizophrenia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FES‐derived MGE spheroids exhibit progenitor‐stage alterations in developmental trajectory and hypoxia‐responsive transcriptional programs, followed by functional disruption. Gestational hypoxia recapitulates impaired progenitor proliferation, shortened cell‐cycle progression, interneuron developmental abnormalities, and schizophrenia‐like behaviors in

Rate and time to develop first central line-associated bloodstream infections when comparing open and closed infusion containers in a Brazilian Hospital

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases
The objective of the study was to determine the effect of switching from an open (glass or semi-rigid plastic) infusion container to a closed, fully collapsible plastic infusion container (Viaflex®) on rate and time to onset of central lineassociated ...

Alternating Shear Force of Respiration Regulates Cell Interactions of Fibroblasts and Macrophages to Promote Soft Tissue Integration of Chest Wall Polyetheretherketone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Given that PEEK chest wall implants induce shear force at the soft tissue‐implant interface due to respiratory motion in the early in vivo post‐implantation stage. We confirmed that this mechanical stimulus triggers the PIEZO1/ITGB1/YAP1 signalling axis in L929 and the STAT6/p‐STAT6 pathway in RAW264.7, which in turn mediates adhesion and migration of ...
