IL‐31 levels correlate with pruritus in patients with cholestatic and metabolic liver diseases and is farnesoid X receptor responsive in NASH

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
IL‐31 levels correlate with pruritus in patients with cholestatic and metabolic liver diseases Abstract Background and Aims Pruritus is associated with multiple liver diseases, particularly those with cholestasis, but the mechanism remains incompletely understood.

A Universal Protein Ladder for Standardization of Diverse FRET Assays

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Translating FRET measurements from in vitro to intracellular environments requires universal benchmarks. We present a modular protein ladder using TPR motifs to harmonize data across diverse platforms. This predictable calibration curve bridges single molecule FRET measurements, with cell based measurements including FLIM‐FRET.

c‐Rel–dependent Chk2 signaling regulates the DNA damage response limiting hepatocarcinogenesis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
In response to genotoxic injury, c‐Rel upregulates ATM‐Chk2‐p53 pathway DNA damage proteins to limiting hepatocarcinogenesis. Abstract Background and Aims Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer‐related death. The NF‐κB transcription factor family subunit c‐Rel is typically protumorigenic; however, it has recently been reported as a

Validation of the Japanese version of the Central Sensitization Inventory in patients with musculoskeletal disorders

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2017
Many musculoskeletal pain conditions are characterized by hypersensitivity, which is induced by central sensitization (CS). A questionnaire, the Central Sensitization Inventory (CSI), was recently developed to help clinicians identify patients whose presenting symptoms may be related to central sensitivity syndrome (CSS).

Sensitization to common ragweed in Southern Bavaria: clinical and geographical risk factors in atopic patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Background: Sensitization to common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) is associated with a variety of risk factors, which are incompletely defined. Our aim was to evaluate the association of a variety of clinical, geographical and demographical variables

Identifying a Csmd3+ Microglial Subpopulation that Drives Cold‐to‐Hot Transition and Immune‐Cure in Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study establishes an immune‐cure (ICu) mouse model based on a TMEMed G422TN‐GBM system that faithfully recapitulates human TMEMed GBM. scRNA‐seq analysis reveals a Csmd3+ microglial subset with innate immune memory (IIM) potential that potently suppresses GBM growth, drives a TME cold‐to‐hot transition, and induces 100% ICu in long‐term survival ...

Cross-cultural adaptation and validity of the Italian version of the Central Sensitization Inventory

open access: yesMusculoskeletal Science and Practice, 2018
Central sensitization (CS) is an important feature in patients with chronic pain. The Central Sensitization Inventory (CSI) was developed with the goal of detecting the patients' symptoms related to CS.This study aimed at cross-culturally adapting the CSI into Italian, and at assessing its structural and construct validity in patients with different ...
