Components of multifractality in the Central England Temperature anomaly series

open access: yes, 2013
We study the multifractal nature of the Central England Temperature (CET) anomaly, a time series that spans more than 200 years. The series is analyzed as a complete data set and considering a sliding window of 11 years.

L-series with nonzero central critical value [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Mathematical Society, 1998
Given a cusp form f f of even integral weight and its associated L L -function L ( f , s ) L(f,s) , we expect that a positive proportion of the quadratic twists of L L will have nonzero central critical value.

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Patients With Osteosarcoma: Local Control Outcomes With Dosimetric Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Osteosarcoma is a radioresistant tumor that may benefit from stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for locoregional control in metastatic/recurrent disease. We report institutional practice patterns, outcomes, toxicity, and failures in osteosarcoma patients treated with SBRT.

Derivations and central extensions of symmetric modular Lie algebras and superalgebras

open access: yes, 2016
Over algebraically closed fields of positive characteristic, for simple Lie (super)algebras, and certain Lie (super)algebras close to simple ones, with symmetric root systems (such that for each root, there is minus it of the same multiplicity) and of ...

Harmonic Series of Convergence Ratio “1/4" with Cubic Central Binomial Coefficients

open access: yesAxioms
We examine a useful hypergeometric transformation formula by means of the coefficient extraction method. A large class of “binomial/harmonic series” (of convergence ratio “1/4”) containing the cubic central binomial coefficients and harmonic numbers is ...

Prognostic Impact of Treatment Modalities, Including Targeted Compartmental Radio‐Immunotherapy, in a Cohort of Neuroblastoma Patients With CNS Metastases at Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

Pullbacks of Saito-Kurokawa lifts and a central value formula for degree 6 L-series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We prove an explicit central value formula for a family of complex L-series of degree 6 for GL2 × GL3 which arise as factors of certain Garret–Rankin triple product L-series associated with modular forms.

Case series of central retinal artery occlusion in COVID-19-associated rhino-orbital-cerebral mucormycosis

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2023
Rhino orbital Mucormycosis caused by filamentous fungus of mucoraceae family was considered a rare disease affecting immunocompromised and diabetics with ketoacidosis until the recent COVID 19 pandemic.

DELP Treatment on Vision and Retinal Microcirculation in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke: Report of Five Cases and Literature Review

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The delipid extracorporeal lipoprotein filter from plasma (DELP) treatment can effectively reduce blood lipid, increase blood flow, and improve neurological deficits in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). However, its effect on vision and retinal microcirculation in stroke patients has never been reported.
