La energía en Extremadura [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
En este estudio se trata de dar una definición de lo que se considera energía así como un rápido informe histórico. Se realiza una revisión de los diferentes tipos de energía, para luego tratar ampliamente las principales fuentes de energía existentes ...

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Central Leptin Acutely Reverses Diet-Induced Hepatic Insulin Resistance [PDF]

open access: yesDiabetes, 2005
Voluntary overfeeding rapidly induces resistance to the effects of systemic insulin and leptin on liver glucose metabolism. To examine whether central administration of recombinant leptin can restore leptin and insulin action on liver glucose fluxes, we infused leptin in the third cerebral ventricle of conscious overfed rats during pancreatic-insulin ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Reversal of Central Sleep Apnea following Discontinuation of Opioids [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, 2012
This case report including polysomnography shows reversal of central sleep apnea after opioid withdrawal. A patient using opioids for pain was diagnosed with central sleep apnea (CSA), but was not compliant with therapy. Five years later he underwent detoxification. Subsequent polysomnography showed no sleep disordered breathing.

Tecnociencias, Interdisciplina y capitalismo complejo con perspectiva latinoamericana: Pablo González Casanova [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
