Clockworked VEVs and neutrino mass

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
In this paper we present an augmented version of the Abelian scalar clockwork model to generate geometrically suppressed vacuum expectation values (vev) of the pseudo Nambu-Goldstone bosons, that we call the clockworked vevs.

Mechanism and regioselectivity of 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions of sulphur-centred dipoles with furan-2,3-dione: A theoretical study using DFT

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Sciences, 2014
The mechanism and regioselectivity of 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions of sulphur-centred 1,3-dipoles including thiocarbonyl S-imide (D1), thiocarbonyl S-oxide (D2) and thiocarbonyl S-sulphide (D3) with an electron-deficient dipolarophile, furan-2,3-dione (DPh), were studied in the light of some theoretical approaches, namely, activation energy ...

Curriculum planning with 'learning outcomes': a theoretical analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The use of learning outcomes for curriculum planning is widely advocated in higher education, it is supported by an imposing set of claims, and it has official sanction, for example from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). In opposition, there are fierce

A Prospective Study of Individuals at Risk of Multiple Sclerosis Informs the Design of Primary Prevention Studies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective In multiple sclerosis, the optimal time for deploying a therapeutic intervention is before the central nervous system is damaged; given the success of trials treating the earliest stage of MS, the radiologically isolated syndrome, developing primary prevention strategies is an important next challenge.

How Far Can One Push the Noble Gases Towards Bonding?: A Personal Account

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Noble gases (Ngs) are the least reactive elements in the periodic table towards chemical bond formation when compared with other elements because of their completely filled valence electronic configuration.

Estimating participation responses using transfer program reform [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper we estimate labor force participation responses for married women in Sweden using population-wide register data and detailed information about individuals’ budget sets.

Efficacy of Intermittent Theta‐Burst Stimulation for Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Emerging evidence suggests that low‐frequency neural oscillations are dynamically regulated by consciousness levels, with the recovery of low cortical activity potentially serving as a neurophysiological substrate for conscious emergence. Targeted enhancement of these low‐frequency rhythms in patients with disorders of consciousness

Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.

Compatible flat metrics

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2002
We solve the problem of description of nonsingular pairs of compatible flat metrics for the general N-component case. The integrable nonlinear partial differential equations describing all nonsingular pairs of compatible flat metrics (or, in other words,
