Abstract A core drilled through shocked and faulted Archean granitoid gneisses and dolerites in the eroded peak ring of the 70–80 km diameter Morokweng impact structure intersects multiple centimeter‐ to meter‐wide clastic‐matrix breccias containing a polymict clast population of lithic and mineral clasts and altered, millimeter‐ to centimeter ‐size ...

High stability design for new centrifugal compressor [PDF]
It is essential that high-performance centrifugal compressors be free of subsynchronous vibrations. A new high-performance centrifugal compressor has been developed by applying the latest rotordynamics knowledge and design techniques: (1) To improve the ...

Propulsion Study for Small Transport Aircraft Technology (STAT) [PDF]
Propulsion requirements were determined for 0.5 and 0.7 Mach aircraft. Sensitivity studies were conducted on both these aircraft to determine parametrically the influence of propulsion characteristics on aircraft size and direct operating cost (DOC ...

Abstract Objective The purpose of this case series was to describe the effect of autologous PRF membrane for corneal reconstruction surgery in dogs. PRF membranes made from two healthy dogs unrelated to the current case series were used for PRF histologic analyses. Animals Seven dogs with complicated corneal ulcerations. Procedure A complete ophthalmic

Asynchronous vibration problem of centrifugal compressor [PDF]
An unstable asynchronous vibration problem in a high pressure centrifugal compressor and the remedial actions against it are described. Asynchronous vibration of the compressor took place when the discharge pressure (Pd) was increased, after the rotor ...

Women in space: A review of known physiological adaptations and health perspectives
Abstract Exposure to the spaceflight environment causes adaptations in most human physiological systems, many of which are thought to affect women differently from men. Since only 11.5% of astronauts worldwide have been female, these issues are largely understudied.

Abstract Prolonged bed rest and immobilization have deleterious effects on skeletal muscle mass and function, especially in older adults. These can lead to reduced physical capacity and quality of life. Previous experiments in younger individuals show that exercise can mitigate these effects, but evidence remains scarce and inconclusive in older adults.
