A Robotic Testing Platform for Pipelined Discovery of Resilient Dielectric Elastomer Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a robotic testing platform enabling high‐throughput, multi‐parameter lifetime mapping of linear dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs). By integrating programmable high‐voltage control and automated electromechanical measurements, the system identifies material and operating conditions that double actuator lifetime.

Piezo‐Coupling Effects in Smart Polymers: Toward Ultrasensitive Sensing and Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Piezo‐coupling effects are the foundational factors for the development of multifunctional and self‐powered platforms. Central to this advancement is the use of stimuli‐responsive smart polymers, which offer mechanical flexibility, biocompatibility, and simplified structural complexity with improved sensitivity and energy efficiency.

A Multidimensional Engineering Strategy Reprograms Microglia via Targeted and Sustained‐Release Extracellular Vesicles for Spinal Cord Injury Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional EV‐based nanoplatform (Ang‐TEVs@Gel) was engineered via preconditioning, surface targeting, and ROS‐responsive hydrogel encapsulation to reprogram microglia. This system restored autophagy via miR‐664a‐3p/PIK3CA axis, cleared myelin debris, resolved neuroinflammation, and promoted axon remyelination, ultimately achieving robust motor ...

Flow in a Centrifugal Fan of the Squirrel-Cage Type [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Turbomachinery, 1989
This paper presents the results of performance measurements and detailed measurements of the mean flow field at rotor inlet and rotor exit in three squirrel-cage fan configurations. The flow-field measurements were taken with a five-hole probe and yield total pressure, static pressure, and the three components of velocity.

Heterogeneity in Food Price Inflation Convergence Across the EU: Evidence From Club Dynamics and Structural Breaks

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines food price inflation rate convergence among EU27 Member States from 2005 to 2024, focusing on structural breaks, external shocks, and regional disparities. Using panel unit root tests and club convergence analysis, the findings reveal no overall convergence but identify multiple convergence clubs.

Challenges and enablers in fluidization technology

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Gas–solid fluidized beds provide excellent heat and mass transfer for high‐throughput operations from coating to catalytic conversion and underpin emerging low‐carbon technologies. Yet industrial reliability, scale‐up, and control lag scientific understanding, particularly as finer, stickier, and more variable feedstocks increasingly challenge

EFFECT OF MODE OF ROTATION AND SPEED ON THE PRESSURE FIELD AND AXIAL THRUST OF INDUSTRIAL CENTRIFUGAL FAN

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2016
Centrifugal fans are used widely in most of the manufacturing processes for ventilating and/or air conditioning the working areas. Because of relatively limited documentation on the design of this type of fans, experimental and theoretical works are ...

Contact Force Estimation in Human–Robot Collaboration: A Case Study on Heavyweight Robotic Manipulators

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The method presented in this paper provides a practical sensorless solution for estimating both contact force and contact location using only standard joint encoders and an available robot dynamic model. By reformulating the contact estimation problem using a single scalar equivalent contact parameter, the approach enables fast and robust computation ...
