Effect of treatments and washing cycles on the quality of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) protein concentrate

open access: yesJournal of Fisheries, 2017
The extraction of proteins from wastes reduces production costs and environmental pollution. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of two treatments involving decanting/sieving or centrifugation and the number of washing cycles on the quality ...

Centrifugal Barrier and Super-Keplerian Rotation in Protostellar Disk Formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
With the advent of ALMA, it is now possible to observationally constrain how disks form around deeply embedded protostars. In particular, the recent ALMA C3H2 line observations of the nearby protostar L1527 have been interpreted as evidence for the so-called "centrifugal barrier," where the protostellar envelope infall is gradually decelerated to a ...

Delivery of exogenous mitochondria via centrifugation enhances cellular metabolic function

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Mitochondria are essential organelles involved in the maintenance of cell growth and function, and have been investigated as therapeutic targets in various diseases. Recent studies have demonstrated that direct mitochondrial transfer can restore cellular

The influence of quantum field fluctuations on chaotic dynamics of Yang-Mills system II. The role of the centrifugal term [PDF]

open access: yesJ.Nonlin.Math.Phys.11:289-293,2004, 2005
We have considered SU(2)xU(1) gauge field theory describing electroweak interactions. We have demonstrated that centrifugal term in model Hamiltonian increases the region of regular dynamics of Yang-Mills and Higgs fields system at low densities of energy.

Waves in the gas centrifuge: asymptotic theory and similarities with the atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
We study the stratified gas in a rapidly rotating centrifuge as a model for the Earth's atmosphere. Based on methods of perturbation theory, it is shown that in certain regimes, internal waves in the gas centrifuge have the same dispersion relation to leading order as their atmospheric siblings.

Distribution of particle sedimentation thickness under constant relative centrifugal force in rotating separation system using wireless electrical resistance detector

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2020
The demand for high separation efficiency needs an advanced device that can be installed in the separation machinery. Parameters in the separation system, such as feeding flow rate and rotational speed, influence the sedimentation formation.

Estimation of the mechanical properties of PRF in the implant surgery: An original research

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences, 2023
Introduction: In many oral procedures that involve the implants, hair implantations, “Platelet-Rich Fibrin Membrane (PRF)” is commonly applied. The advantages are many.

Lab-in-a-Tube: A portable imaging spectrophotometer for cost-effective, high-throughput, and label-free analysis of centrifugation processes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Centrifuges serve as essential instruments in modern experimental sciences, facilitating a wide range of routine sample processing tasks that necessitate material sedimentation. However, the study for real time observation of the dynamical process during centrifugation has remained elusive.

Reduction of relative centrifugal forces increases growth factor release within solid platelet-rich-fibrin (PRF)-based matrices: a proof of concept of LSCC (low speed centrifugation concept)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery, 2017
Purpose The present study evaluated the platelet distribution pattern and growth factor release (VEGF, TGF-β1 and EGF) within three PRF (platelet-rich-fibrin) matrices (PRF, A-PRF and A-PRF+) that were prepared using different relative centrifugation ...
