Reactive extraction of cephalosporin C.
The decomposition rate of cephalosporin C was measured in order to determine the stable operating conditions for extraction, and the same pH dependence as those reported in the past works was obtained. The physical extraction of cephalosporin C with butyl acetate did not occur since it was amphoteric and the fraction of undissociated form was very low ...

Multicomponent Synthesis of Fluorine‐Containing Bioactive Compounds and Drugs
Multicomponent reactions are robust synthetic tools to assamble complex polyheterocycles and other interesting molecular architectures with potential application in medicinal chemistry, including their fluorine‐containing analogues. Fluorine atoms placed strategically into bioactive molecules often enhance essential pharmacokinetic parameters like ...

Development of a capillary electrophoresis method for the simultaneous determination of cephalosporins [PDF]
A rapid and simple capillary electrophoresis method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of six extensively used cephalosporin antibiotics (cefaclor, cefadroxil, cefalexin, cefuroxim, ceftazidim, ceftriaxon).

Surgical site infections and sepsis in gynecological surgery
Abstract Despite advancements in infection control, surgical site infections (SSIs) and postoperative sepsis remain significant challenges in gynecological surgery, contributing to increased morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. In low‐income countries, circulatory failure due to septic shock leads to most deaths after surgery, with sepsis ...

Reducing post‐cesarean sepsis: Current best practice in prevention and treatment
Abstract Cesarean section is the most common surgical procedure performed worldwide. It is associated with good perinatal and maternal outcomes when indicated. The rising global cesarean birth rate has coincided with an increase in post‐cesarean sepsis – specifically site infections, which have an incidence of 7% worldwide. Post‐cesarean sepsis remains

The global emergence of hypervirulent, carbapenem‐resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (hvCRKP) poses a paradox: why do such dangerous clones remain geographically confined? By analyzing over 2500 CC23 genomes across 90 years, we uncover a core evolutionary constraint—virulence and resistance rarely coexist without trade‐offs. Potent carbapenemases (blaKPC,

ABSTRACT Background We aimed to investigate the microbiological characteristics of pathogens isolated from blood cultures (BCs) of patients with acute cholangitis (AC) after biliary‐enteric anastomosis and biliary intervention (BI). Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 366 patients with AC and bacteremia between 2015 and 2024 at Hiroshima ...

Effect of catalase on CPC production during fermentation of Acremonium chrysogenum
Cephalosporin C (CPC) is a critical raw material for cephalosporin antibiotics produced by Acremonium chrysogenum. During fermentation, the oxygen supply is a crucial factor limiting the efficient biosynthesis of CPC.
