Milky Way Classical Cepheid Distances from Calibrated Infrared Period–Luminosity–Metallicity Relations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Classical Cepheids (DCEPs) serve as fundamental standard candles for measuring cosmic distances and investigating the structure and evolution of the Milky Way disk.

Zwicky Transient Facility and Globular Clusters: The Period–Luminosity and Period–Wesenheit Relations for Anomalous Cepheids Supplemented with Large Magellanic Cloud Sample

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2022
We present the first gri -band period–luminosity (PL) and period–Wesenheit (PW) relations for the fundamental mode anomalous Cepheids. These PL and PW relations were derived from a combined sample of five anomalous Cepheids in globular cluster M92 and ...

Head‐to‐head comparison of TKI and CPI first‐line treatment strategies in advanced renal cell carcinoma—Real‐world data from the German research platform CARAT

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 6, Page 1690-1702, 15 March 2026.
What's new? The current standard of care for locally advanced or metastatic renal cell carcinoma (aRCC) is either a combination of two immune checkpoint inhibitors (CPI) or a CPI plus a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). Here, the authors simulate a head‐to‐head trial comparing the real‐world effectiveness of these combination therapies with TKI ...

A Novel q-PED Method: Precise Physical Properties of a Merger-origin Binary Cepheid OGLE-LMC-CEP-1347

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
Recently, a double-lined binary classical Cepheid, OGLE-LMC-CEP-1347, was discovered with the orbital period ( P _orb  = 59 days), 5 times shorter than that of any binary Cepheid known before.

Catalog of Integrated-light Star Cluster Light Curves in TESS

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2023
We present the first integrated-light, TESS-based light curves for star clusters in the Milky Way, Small Magellanic Cloud, and Large Magellanic Cloud. We explore the information encoded in these light curves, with particular emphasis on variability.

Newly Identified Transcriptomic Biomarkers and Gene Signature of Pathological Complete Response to Induction Chemoimmunotherapy in Locally Advanced Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
Scheme and pathological characteristics of the CheckRad‐CD8 trial cohort used for the transcriptome analyses. (A) Flow diagram depicting the patient cohort and study scheme as the basis for whole transcriptome profiling of samples from locally advanced HNSCC patients treated with induction chemoimmunotherapy (iCIT).

Navigating the Gap: An Examination of Funder Rhetoric and Reality Regarding Community‐Research Partnerships

open access: yesDrug and Alcohol Review, Volume 45, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Partnerships between researchers and consumers—specifically, people who use drugs in the context of our research co‐production—can significantly enhance the relevance and impact of research. Funders increasingly emphasise the value of community‐researcher collaborations, yet translating this commitment into effective practice remains ...

Search for Classical Cepheids in Galactic Open Clusters and Calibration of the Period–Wesenheit–Metallicity Relation in the Gaia Bands

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
It is beneficial to calibrate the period–Wesenheit–metallicity relation (PWZR) of Delta Cephei stars (DCEPs), i.e., classical Cepheids, using accurate parallaxes of associated open clusters (OCs) from Gaia data release 3 (DR3).

The MACHO Project Large Magellanic Cloud Variable Star Inventory. XII. Three Cepheid Variables in Eclipsing Binaries

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2002
We present a method for solving the light curve of an eclipsing binary system that contains a Cepheid variable as one of its components as well as the solutions for three eclipsing Cepheids in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). A geometric model is constructed in which the component stars are assumed to be spherical and on circular orbits.
