Alumina‐Based Ceramics for Armor Application: Mechanical Characterization and Ballistic Testing
Journal of Ceramics, Volume 2014, Issue 1, 2014., 2014 The aim of this work is to present results of mechanical characterization and ballistic test of alumina‐based armor plates. Three compositions (92, 96, and 99 wt% Al2O3) were tested for 10 mm thick plates processed in an industrial plant. Samples were pressed at 110 MPa and sintered at 1600°C for 6 h.

Parameter Optimization in the Synthesis of BZT Ceramics to Achieve Good Dielectric Properties
Journal of Materials, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013 The powder synthesis of barium zirconate titanate (BZT) (BaZrxTi(1 − x)O3) from the mechanochemical activation of BaCO3, ZrO2, and TiO2 was studied. The grinding effect, by using a planetary ball milling, on the crystallization temperature of BZT powders (x = 0.05) was analyzed.

Simple and Rapid Fabrication of Na0.5K0.5NbO3 Thin Films by a Chelate Route
Journal of Ceramics, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013 Na0.5K0.5NbO3 (NKN) thin films were prepared by a chelate route which offers the advantage of a simple and rapid solution synthesis. The route is based on the use of acetoin as a chelating agent. The process was optimized by investigating the effects of alkaline volatilization on film properties.
