Pozolanicidade do resíduo cerâmico

open access: yesRevista Principia, 2020
The construction industry is still responsible for generating a significant volume of waste from mortars, concrete and ceramic materials. We underline in this scenario the residue of ceramic bricks that can be used in the production of new materials ...

The space‐age hotel

open access: yesAmerican Ethnologist, Volume 52, Issue 4, Page 446-458, November 2025.
Abstract For years the decrepit Hotel Lunik in Eisenhüttenstadt, Germany, a city founded in 1950 as a model of socialist urbanism, has been widely understood as “a trace of capitalism.” Once a central landmark, Lunik was sold to a real estate speculator in 2006 and left to decay.

Influence of attachment techniques on coral seeding unit deployment cost and performance

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, Volume 33, Issue 8, November 2025.
Attachment of coral propagules to the reef surface is a bottleneck in the efficiency and efficacy of coral restoration techniques, with hypothesized tradeoffs between the relative investment in attachment (labor and materials costs) and propagule yield. Here we quantified the investment required and retention over 1 year for 11 coral seeding attachment

Tangential adhesion strength of cement mortars in masonry [PDF]

open access: yesИнженерно-строительный журнал, 2012
The initial shear strength (tangential adhesion) and the angle of internal friction in the horizontal plane of mortar joints are among important characteristics, determining the masonry strength and stiffness qualities in case of share.

Integrated Electromagnetic Mapping Through K‐Means to Improve Identification of Areas of Archaeological Interest

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, Volume 32, Issue 4, Page 797-811, October/December 2025.
ABSTRACT This study proposes a procedure to improve the interpretation of data from the Frequency Domain ElectroMagnetic method (FDEM), a geophysical technique with high benefit–cost ratios in archaeology. This method enables the simultaneous analysis of electrical and magnetic properties of the investigated medium, providing data as in‐phase and out ...

BASIC UNIT COST SIMULATION FROM FREE-STALL DESIGN TO DAIRY CATTLE CONFINEMENT USING DIFFERENT CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES [PDF]

open access: yesEngenharia Agrícola, 2016
The ascendancy of milk production in Brazil is due to mainly to the adoption of confinement systems, however, construction quality of these systems impact on milk production. This study aimed to simulate the Basic Unit Cost (BUC m-2), referring to a free-

Dolomite and Mg Calcite as Mineral Thermometers in Mortar Binders. A High Resolution Raman Spectroscopic Study

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 56, Issue 10, Page 1059-1071, October 2025.
Raman band characteristics of calcium carbonates from experimentally heated and recarbonated dolomite samples and of carbonate aggregates in a high‐fired gypsum mortar were correlated using high spectral and spatial resolution micro‐Raman. The band parameters of the carbonate minerals correlate to the applied burning temperature, hence allowing a ...

Sol–Gel Synthesis of Ca2.5Ag0.3Sm0.2Co4O9 Semiconducting Materials for Thermoelectric Applications in Aerospace Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 17, September 2025.
Ca2.5Ag0.3Sm0.2Co4O9 semiconductor materials are synthesized and produced in this study using the sol–gel and cold pressing techniques for thermoelectric generator applications. As template samples are added, the Seebeck coefficient and power factor values rise, peaking at 800 °C for Ca2.5Ag0.3Sm0.2Co4O9 at 274.47 μV K−1 and 0.58 mW mK−2, respectively.
