Electroless plating of ceramic particles

1985
Electroless nickel plating of alumina (60 grit) and silicon carbide (150 grit) particles was investigated in the present work in order to optimize plating parameters; temperature, solution composition, level of agitation, weight/volume ratio of ceramic powder to plating solution and duration of plating.

Plated copper on ceramic for power hybrid applications

Proceedings., 39th Electronic Components Conference, 2003
A technique for plating copper onto ceramic with top layers of nickel, gold, and/or solder is described. The adhesion mechanism of the copper is an interlocking of the film and ceramic surface to form a mechanical bond. Soldered adhesion of the copper did not degrade during high-temperature storage or thermal cycling.
