The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.

Influence of MWCNT distribution in alumina prepared by colloidal processing for EDM applications [PDF]
Ceramics are known for their high temperature stability, hardness, wear resistance and chemical inertness which make them an ideal choice in designing devices for extreme conditions. Machining of ceramics using conventional methods are ruled out owing to

Analysis of whisker-toughened ceramic components: A design engineer's viewpoint [PDF]
The use of ceramics components in gas turbines, cutting tools, and heat exchangers has been limited by the relatively low flaw tolerance of monolithic ceramics. The development of whisker toughened ceramic composites offers the potential for considerable

Piezoelectric properties of polyamide 11/NaNbO3nanowire composites [PDF]
Polyamide 11(PA 11)/sodium niobate nanowire (NW) 0–3 composites with different volume fractions of NWs were synthesized. The electric polarization (P) was measured as a function of the applied electric field (E).
