Ceratocystiopsis Proteae Sp. Nov., with a New Anamorph Genus

Mycologia, 1988
A new species, Ceratocystiopsis proteae, collected from insect-infested Protea repens is described. Knoxdariesia, a new genus of dematiaceous hyphomycctcs is described to accommodate the anamorph of C. proteae. Ceratocystiopsis proteae shares characteristics of Ceratocystis sensu stricto (cycloheximide sensitivity), Ceratocystiopsis (falcate ascopores)

Stimulation of growth, sporulation, and potential staining capability in Ceratocystiopsis falcata

Forest Pathology, 1993
AbstractA procedure is described for the rapid extraction from the hyphomycete Gliocladiumroseum of a compound that stimulates growth, perithecial formation, and pigmentation in the mycelium of the wood‐inhabiting ascomycete Ceratocystiopsis falcata.

The compact mitogenome of Ceratocystiopsis pallidobrunnea

Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 2022
Ceratocystiopsis is a fungal genus that has been assigned to the Ophiostomatales, fungi known for their association with various bark beetles and other arthropods. The mitochondrial genome of Ceratocystiopsis pallidobrunnea has been characterized and compared with other members of the genus Ceratocystiopsis and Ophiostomatales.

Ascospore dispersal of Ceratocystiopsis ranaculosus , a mycangial fungus of the southern pine beetle

Mycologia, 1995
Ascospores of the heterothallic fungus Cer- atocystiopsis ranaculosus were found in sporothecae of three mite species of the genus Tarsonemus. These mites were phoretic on the coniferous bark beetles Den- droctonus frontalis, D. brevicomis, and Ips acuminatus.

Ceratocystiopsis: a reappraisal based on molecular criteria

Mycological Research, 1993
Analysis of partial rDNA sequences from both the small and large subunit genes of species of Ceratocystiopsis suggests they represent a polyphyletic group. Therefore the production of falcate-like ascospores, the key feature of this genus, is an example of convergent evolution.

Cornuvesica, a new genus to accommodate Ceratocystiopsis falcata

Mycological Research, 2000
Most species in Ceratocystiopsis share many characters with species in Ophiostoma. Unlike other Ceratocystiopsis species, C. falcata appears to have enteroblastic conidium development and what appears to be a Chalara anamorph. Morphologically, Cp. falcata is thus more similar to Ceratocystis (with Chalara anamorphs) than Ophiostoma, although it is very
