Resolving taxonomic and phylogenetic incongruence within speciesCeratocystiopsis minuta

Mycologia, 2009
Ceratocystiopsis minuta (Siemaszko) H.P. Upadhyay & W.B. Kendr., originally isolated in Poland, is the type species of genus Ceratocystiopsis H.P. Upadhyay & W.B. Kendr. Species in this genus are characterized by dark perithecia with short conical beaks, usually with convergent ostiolar hyphae and dark ascocarps, and by falcate or lunate ascospores ...

Fine structure of ascosporogenesis in Ceratocystiopsis proteae

Canadian Journal of Botany, 1993
The development and ultrastructure of the ascoma, asci, and ascospores in Ceratocystiopsis proteae were studied and compared with that of other genera in Ceratocystis sensu lato. Ascospore delimitation commenced with the formation of double delimiting membranes in the ascus as is true in other species in Ceratocystis s.l.

Identification of group I introns within the SSU rDNA gene in species of Ceratocystiopsis and related taxa

Fungal Biology, 2012
During a recent phylogenetic study, group I introns were noted that interrupt the nuclear small subunit ribosomal RNA (SSU rDNA) gene in species of Ceratocystiopsis. Group I introns were found to be inserted at the following rDNA positions: S943, S989, and S1199.

Conidium development in the Hyalorhinocladiella anamorphs of Ceratocystiopsis minuta-bicolor and Ophiostoma minus

Canadian Journal of Botany, 1996
The genus Hyalorhinocladiella was characterized by its simple conidiophores with conidiogenous cells that proliferate sympodially. However, recent studies revealed that the Hyalorhinocladiella anamorph of Ophiostoma ips has annellidic conidium development.

Ophiostomatalean fungi associated with bark beetles infesting Pinus koraiensis , including the description of Ceratocystiopsis fushunensis sp. nov. in China

Abstract Fungi of Ophiostomatales (Sordariomycetes, Ascomycota) always have a symbiotic relationship with bark beetles (Coleoptera: Scolytinae). In this study, we investigated the fungi associated with Cryphalus piceae and Hylastes sp in Fushun ...
