The roles of MMP8/MMP10 polymorphisms in ischemic stroke susceptibility

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 12, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Background Ischemic stroke (IS), a multifactorial and polygenic disease, is the most common cause of death. This study aimed to determine the roles of MMP8/MMP10 polymorphisms in IS susceptibility in the Chinese Han population. Methods MMP8 rs1940475 and rs3765620, and MMP10 rs17860949 from 700 IS patients and 700 controls were genotyped by ...

Hypertension-Related Cerebral Microbleeds

open access: yesCase Reports in Neurology, 2020
Hypertension and cerebral amyloid angiopathy are the most common causes of cerebral microbleeds. The pattern of microbleeds on T2*-weighted gradient echo sequence of magnetic resonance imaging of the brain can be indicative of the etiology of ...

Iodinated contrast media and cerebral hemorrhage after intravenous thrombolysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
<p>Background and Purpose: Iodinated contrast is increasingly used in CT perfusion or angiographic examinations in acute stroke. Increased risk of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) complicating microcatheter contrast injections has recently been ...

Comparison of keyhole endoscopy and craniotomy for the treatment of patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage

open access: yesMedicine, 2019
By comparing the intraoperative and postoperative conditions under different surgical methods, namely, keyhole endoscopy and craniotomy, we aim to provide more reasonable surgical treatment for patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage.

Preparation of gastrodin‐modified dendrimer‐entrapped gold nanoparticles as a drug delivery system for cerebral ischemia–reperfusion injury

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 12, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objective This study sought to evaluate the feasibility of multifunctional gastrodin (GAS)‐containing nano‐drug carrier system against cerebral ischemia–reperfusion injury (CIRI). Methods The drug‐loaded nanocomposite (Au‐G5.NHAc‐PS/GAS) with certain encapsulation efficiency (EE) was prepared by physical adsorption method using different ...

Simulation‐based team‐training in acute stroke: Is it safe to speed up?

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 12, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Background In acute ischemic stroke (AIS), rapid treatment with intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) is crucial for good clinical outcome. Weekly simulation‐based team‐training of the stroke treatment team was implemented, resulting in faster treatment times.

Resveratrol ameliorates brain injury via the TGF-β-mediated ERK signaling pathway in a rat model of cerebral hemorrhage

open access: yesExperimental and Therapeutic Medicine, 2019
Brain injury is the most common intracranial injury in human cerebrovascular disease, which may lead to ischemic stroke. Resveratrol induces ameliorative effects in the treatment of certain human diseases by regulating different signaling pathways.

Phase 2 results of lisocabtagene maraleucel in Japanese patients with relapsed/refractory aggressive B‐cell non‐Hodgkin lymphoma

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 11, Issue 24, Page 4889-4899, December 2022., 2022
This analysis assessed safety and efficacy of lisocabtagene maraleucel (liso‐cel), an autologous CD‐19‐directed CAR T‐cell product, in Japanese patients with R/R aggressive LBCL in Cohort 3 of TRANSCEND WORLD (NCT03484702). Liso‐cel demonstrated meaningful efficacy and a manageable safety profile in Japanese patients with R/R LBCL.
