Modulation of miR‐23b Wnt/β‐catenin Axis Strengthens Endothelial Barrier Properties
Early blood‐brain barrier (BBB) disruption contributes to stroke and CNS disease pathology. miR‐23b was identified as a regulator of BBB integrity in brain endothelial cells. Inhibition of miR‐23b enhanced barrier‐associated properties, promoted repair‐related signaling, and reduced BBB leakage in experimental stroke models, supporting further ...

Imaging of an inflammatory injury in the newborn rat brain with photoacoustic tomography. [PDF]
The precise assessment of cerebral saturation changes during an inflammatory injury in the developing brain, such as seen in periventricular leukomalacia, is not well defined.

Arterial oxygen saturation, COPD, and cerebral small vessel disease [PDF]
To study whether lower arterial oxygen saturation (SaO(2)) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are associated with cerebral white matter lesions and lacunar infarcts. We measured SaO(2) twice with a pulse oximeter, assessed the presence of COPD, and performed MRI in 1077 non-demented people from a general population (aged 60-90 years).

Smart Nanotechnologies for Multimodal Neuromodulation and Brain Interfacing
Recent advances in smart nanotechnologies are expanding the toolbox for brain interfacing, from wireless neuromodulation and high‐resolution sensing to targeted delivery within the central nervous system. By combining responsive nanomaterials with bioinspired design, these platforms enable multimodal interactions with neurons and glia, while also ...

A novel exercise‐inducible myokine acidic ribosomal protein P2 (RPLP2), initially identified from human trials, is presented here, whose circulating levels negatively correlate with clinical anxiety severity. Muscle‐derived RPLP2 enhances hippocampal ribosomal assembly and adult neurogenesis to rescue stress‐induced anxiety deficits.

Clinical Application of Near-Infrared Spectroscopy in Neonates [PDF]
The incidence of cerebral palsy has not decreased despite advances in neonatal care. Preterm infants are at a high risk of cerebral palsy. Moreover, preterm infants might experience permanent neurological sequelae due to injury in the preterm brain ...

The Effects of Carotid Endarterectomy Surgery on Cerebral Oxygenation, Randomized Clinical Trial
Purpose: The aim of this study is to assess how NIRS values changed with cross-clamp (CC) duration in carotis endarterectomy (CEA) surgeries. Materials and Methods: The study included 30 patients. Before induction of general anesthesia, systolic blood
