Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis associated with vaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia

open access: yesThe Neuroradiology Journal, 2021
Thrombosis-thrombocytopenia syndrome and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis have been rarely reported in patients who have received severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 adenoviral vector vaccines.

Microendovascular Neural Recording from Cortical and Deep Vessels with High Precision and Minimal Invasiveness

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Intravascular electroencephalography (ivEEG) using micro‐intravascular electrodes was developed. Cortical‐vein ivEEG showed a higher signal‐to‐noise ratio and finer spatial resolution of somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) than superior sagittal sinus ivEEG, and deep‐vein ivEEG captured clear visual evoked potentials.

Abstract Number ‐ 92: Successful thrombectomy with Indigo Aspiration System on diffuse cerebral sinus thrombosis

open access: yesStroke: Vascular and Interventional Neurology, 2023
Introduction Endovascular treatment for venous sinus thrombosis is challenging. Commonly utilized aspiration catheters in neuro‐interventional procedures have diameters ranging from 2–3 mm and are much smaller than the average diameter of the major ...

Detection of interictal epileptiform discharges using multiple bilateral insertions of a newly developed microcatheter‐compatible endovascular electroencephalogram electrode: A clinical feasibility trial

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To assess the feasibility, technical performance, and safety of a novel endovascular electroencephalogram (eEEG) electrode, EP‐01, designed for minimally invasive seizure localization in patients with drug‐resistant epilepsy. Methods This single‐center, prospective, exploratory trial enrolled five patients with drug‐resistant ...

Classification of Platelet‐Activating Anti‐Platelet Factor 4 Disorders

open access: yesInternational Journal of Laboratory Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The prototypic anti‐platelet factor 4 (PF4) disorder—heparin‐induced thrombocytopenia and thrombosis (HITT)—features immunoglobulin G (IgG) class antibodies that activate platelets, monocytes, and neutrophils in a mainly heparin‐dependent fashion via Fcγ receptor‐dependent cellular activation.

Post-traumatic cerebral venous sinus thrombosis complicated with syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports
Background Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis is a rare but potentially life-threatening condition resulting from the formation of a thrombus in the venous sinuses in the brain, resulting in impaired venous drainage, increased intracranial pressure, and ...

A Retrospective Study of Adult and Pediatric D‐Dimer Tests to Identify Opportunities for Improved Utilization

open access: yesInternational Journal of Laboratory Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction D‐dimers are produced by lysis of cross‐linked fibrin. In children, D‐dimer testing is used to evaluate disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and some inflammatory states, but its use is not validated for screening or ruling out suspected venous thromboembolic events (VTE).
