APP Expression in Primary Neuronal Cell Cultures fromP6 Mice during in vitro Differentiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Primary neuronal cell cultures from P6 mice were investigated in order to study amyloid protein precursor (APP) gene expression in differentiating neurons.

Atypical parkinsonism: An Update. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Purpose of review: This update discusses novel aspects on genetics, diagnosis, and treatments of atypical parkinsonism published over the past 2 years. Recent findings: A genome-wide association study identified new genetic risk factors for progressive ...

General Effect Modelling (GEM) -- Part 3. GEM applied on proteome data of cerebrospinal fluid of multiple sclerosis and clinically isolated syndrome [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The novel data analytical platform General Effect Modelling (GEM), is an umbrella platform covering different data analytical methods that handle data with multiple design variables (or pseudo design variables) and multivariate responses. GEM is here demonstrated in an analysis of proteome data from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from two independent ...

Analysis of solutions for a cerebrospinal fluid model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
The main purpose of this manuscript is to analyze an intracranic fluid model from a mathematical point of view. By means of an iterative process we are able to prove the existence and uniqueness of a local solution and the existence and uniqueness of a global solution under some restriction conditions on the initial data.

Death Is Associated with Complement C3 Depletion in Cerebrospinal Fluid of Patients with Pneumococcal Meningitis

open access: yesmBio, 2012
Pneumococcal meningitis can lead to death or serious neurological sequelae as a result of the host inflammatory response. We investigated the association between host response protein expression and outcome in patients with pneumococcal meningitis ...

Leukocyte-derived microparticles and scanning electron microscopic structures in two fractions of fresh cerebrospinal fluid in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2012
Introduction Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by degeneration of motoneuron cells in anterior spinal horns. There is a need for early and accurate diagnosis with this condition.

Metastability and nucleation in the dilute fluid phase of a simple model of globular proteins [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1999
The dilute fluid phase of model globular proteins is studied. The model possesses a fluid-fluid transition buried within the fluid-crystal coexistence region, as do some globular proteins. If this fluid-fluid transition is not buried deep inside the fluid-crystal coexistence region the crystalline phase does not nucleate within the dilute fluid.
