Epigenetic regulation of mycorrhizal symbioses: from plastic responses to transgenerational legacies
Summary Mycorrhizal symbioses represent one of the most widespread and ecologically significant plant–microbe interactions, shaping plant nutrition, stress resilience, and ecosystem functioning. Beyond their role in nutrient exchange and systemic defense, growing evidence suggests that these symbioses also influence plant plasticity within and across ...

Stochastic dynamic simulation of fruit abortion: a case study of sweet pepper [PDF]
Abortion of reproductive organs diminishes yields in many crops. In indeterminate greenhouse crops, alternating periods of fruit abortion and fruit set exist, resulting in fluctuations in fruit yield. Factors affecting the level of abortion are e.g., the

Tracer testing assessed hydraulics and nitrate removal in three full‐scale agricultural drainage treatment wetlands over 3.5 years (three tests). The first test showed rapid, short‐circuited flow and low residence time. After modifying the collection system, the second test increased residence time from 1 to 7 days.

Simulating the effects of spatially variable irrigation on corn yields, costs, and revenue in Iowa [PDF]
In this study, the CERES-Maize crop model was used in conjunction with Apollo, a shell program, to evaluate potential improved yield in a central Iowa cornfield on a spatially and temporally variable basis. Five years of historical yield and weather data

Abstract A key prerequisite of transporter proteins' function is their trafficking to the target cellular membranes where they fulfill distinct physiological roles. Cornichon proteins (CNIH/Erv14) represent a highly conserved family of coat protein complex II (COPII)‐coated vesicle cargo receptors that facilitate the exit of numerous transporters from ...

DSSAT model as a tool for water and nitrogen management in intensive irrigated areas: calibration and validation [poster] [PDF]
The DSSAT model has been used worldwide to simulate crop biomass and yield, and soil N dynamics under different management practices and various climatic conditions (Li et al., 2015).

Using CERES-maize and ENSO as decision support tools to evaluate climate-sensitive farm management practices for maize production in the northern regions of Ghana [PDF]
Open Access JournalMaize (Zea mays) has traditionally been a major cereal staple in southern Ghana. Through breeding and other crop improvement efforts, the zone of cultivation of maize has now extended to the northern regions of Ghana which, hitherto ...

Abstract Background Hospital nutrition services rarely offer Indigenous‐specific menu options, an essential element of delivering “Indigenous cultural safety” in nutrition care to Indigenous patients. Methods Indigenous participants (n = 370) completed a semistructured Indigenous Food Ways survey (paper‐based and online) from 2021 to 2022 as part of ...
