Nickel‐ceria based catalysts displayed high performances for the methanation reaction achieving both high selectivity and conversion under non‐thermal plasma. These performances arose from the formation of the Ce1‐xNixO2‐γ solid solution promoted by the use of sol‐gel based synthesis and was investigated by XPS, TEM, TPR and raman.

Hidden Complexity in Stress‐Induced Phase Transformations of CeO2–ZrO2 Ceramics
Using atomistic simulations, this study reveals that the tetragonal‐to‐monoclinic transformation in zirconia is more complex than previously thought. While pure bulk zirconia often becomes trapped in metastable phases, ceria doping and free surfaces facilitate the transformation into the stable phase, aligning with experimental data.

Pt@ZrO2 thin films are fabricated by ion beam sputtering as compact, binder‐free electrodes with low Pt loading (0.0475 mg·cm−2). The intimate mixing between the noble metal and the ceramic support enhances intrinsic catalytic activity toward alkaline hydrogen evolution, allowing a significant reduction in precious metal loading while maintaining ...

Investigating the Effect of MgO and CeO2 on the Crystallization Behavior of ZrO2 in Li2O- SiO2- ZrO2 Glass in Order to Prepare a Dental Base [PDF]
ZrO2 is commonly incorporated into ceramic glass substrates to enhance radiopacity, mechanical strength, and chemical durability. Experience has shown that the crystallization of tetragonal zirconia in glass will have a greater effect on the mechanical ...
