Hydrogen Production by Reforming of Methane over NiAl2O4/CexZr1-xO2 Catalysts
This work was focused on the study of the catalytic behaviour of nickel aluminate supported either on ceria or ceria-zirconia (NiAl2O4/CexZr1-xO2, x= 0.13 and 1, 14 wt.% Ni) for the steam reforming and partial oxidation of methane.

Pt@ZrO2 thin films are fabricated by ion beam sputtering as compact, binder‐free electrodes with low Pt loading (0.0475 mg·cm−2). The intimate mixing between the noble metal and the ceramic support enhances intrinsic catalytic activity toward alkaline hydrogen evolution, allowing a significant reduction in precious metal loading while maintaining ...

Electrochemical memristive devices, whose resistance is modulated by ion migration and redox reactions, offer a hardware pathway toward brain‐inspired computing. This review summarizes key switching mechanisms—electrochemical metallization (ECM), valence change mechanism (VCM), and thermochemical effects (TCM)—and discusses how materials and device ...

Ceria‐Zirconia Supported Gold Nanoparticles for CO and Soot Oxidation
ABSTRACT This study introduces a gold nanoparticles catalyst (AuNPs) supported on ceria‐zirconia oxide, prepared by deposition‐precipitation (Au/CZ‐dep) and chemical reduction (Au/CZ‐red). The as‐prepared catalysts were tested in CO oxidation by O2 and soot oxidation under different oxidizing atmospheres (O2, NO2+NO+O2).

Early exposure to titanium dioxide nanoparticles caused a decrease in the cytoplasmic catalase activity, inducing lipid peroxidation in the Saccharomyces cerevisae. [PDF]
The massive production of nanomaterials has created new pollutants whose interaction with living organisms is unclear. Recent studies have revealed that these materials generate reactive oxygen species, causing cell damage, when antioxidant systems fail,

Hole Polaronic Confinement in (111) Yttria‐Stabilised Zirconia
Ultrathin epitaxial YSZ(111) films unexpectedly develop p‐type mixed conduction and amplified electromechanical coupling under oxidizing conditions. Combined transport measurements and first‐principles modeling reveal that nanoscale confinement and ordered dopant–vacancy complexes stabilize localized O 2p hole polarons at the surface. A canonical ionic
