Sintering Kinetics of Plasma-Sprayed Zirconia TBCs

open access: yes, 2007
A model of the sintering exhibited by EB-PVD TBCs, based on principles of free energy minimization, was recently published by Hutchinson et al. In the current paper, this approach is applied to sintering of plasma-sprayed TBCs and comparisons are made ...

Simultaneous catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and soot with Ce–Zr–Nd mixed oxides in simulated diesel exhaust conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Ce0.73−xZr0.27NdxO2 mixed oxides (x ≤ 0.3) were prepared, characterized by XRD, Raman spectroscopy, N2 adsorption isotherms and H2-TPR, and tested for simultaneous CO, propylene, benzene and soot oxidation in a gas mixture containing O2, NOx, H2O, CO2 ...

Transition of Ion Diffusion Mechanism in BaZr0.1Ce0.7Y0.1Yb0.1O3‐δ Electrolyte Under Real Operating Conditions

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 8, 22 April 2026.
Ion diffusion in the benchmark BZCYYb electrolyte is revealed to dynamically transition under realistic PCFC operating conditions. As temperature decreases, the electrolyte shifts from oxygen‐ion to proton‐dominant conduction via grain‐boundary hydrogenation and in situ hydration, even without external humidification.

Tuning Ce‐Zr‐Al Mixed Oxide Supports to Enhance Pt‐Pd Catalyst Performance for Low‐Temperature CO and C3H6 Oxidation in Diesel Emissions

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
ABSTRACT Diesel oxidation catalysts (DOCs) with low‐temperature activity are required for low‐temperature combustion diesel (LTC‐D) engine technologies to meet emission regulations. To probe the impact of oxygen availability on activity, bimetallic Pt‐Pd catalysts supported on Ce‐Zr‐Al mixed oxides with varying Ce/Zr/Al contents were systematically ...

Compositional and Fabrication Cycle Optimization of Ceria-Zirconia-Supported Mo-Based Catalysts for NH3-SCR NOx Reduction

open access: yesInorganics
The reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx), critical pollutants from stationary to mobile sources, mainly relies on the selective catalytic reduction (NH3-SCR) method, employing ammonia to reduce NOx into nitrogen and water.

Propane Dehydrogenation Over Reduced CeO2 and CeZrO2

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, 27 March 2026.
Ceria, a non‐noble metal oxide considered inactive for propane dehydrogenation, is transformed into an active catalyst via a deep, bulk‐level reduction pre‐treatment that generates new active sites and unlocks alternative low‐energy pathways for this process.
