Advanced Electron Microscopy Investigation of Ceria–Zirconia‐Based Catalysts

ChemCatChem, 2010
AbstractThe potentials of advanced transmission and scanning transmission electron microscopy in nanostructural studies of ceria–zirconia mixed oxides are overviewed. The crystallographic criteria that allow us to discriminate the different CeO2–ZrO2 polymorphs and the nanocrystal size range within which they can be applied are discussed.

Oxygen Storage Behavior of Ceria–Zirconia-Based Catalysts in the Presence of SO2

Topics in Catalysis, 2001
This paper investigates the effect of the presence of SO2 in the dynamics of oxygen storage on ceria and ceria–zirconia.

Study of the surface and redox properties of ceria–zirconia oxides

Applied Catalysis A: General, 2008
Abstract CeO 2 –ZrO 2 oxides with different CeO 2 content (1–12 wt%) were prepared by the impregnation method. The effects of CeO 2 content, calcination temperature and interaction between the components on the structure and reductive properties of CeO 2 –ZrO 2 oxides were evaluated by using different techniques such as XRD, DRS, FTIR, Raman, XPS,

Ceria–zirconia based catalysts for ethanol steam reforming

Fuel, 2015
Abstract Mixed ceria–zirconia oxide (CZ91, Ce:Zr = 9:1) has been used to support Nickel (CZ91Ni), Cobalt (CZ91Co) and bimetallic Nickel/Cobalt active phases (CZ91NiCo) to be tested in Ethanol Steam Reforming reaction (ESR). H 2 -TPR analyses and IR studies of adsorbed probe molecules suggest that ceria/zirconia actually favors the reduction of ...

STRUCTURAL PROPERTIES AND THERMAL STABILITY OF CERIA-ZIRCONIA AND RELATED MATERIALS

2002
The use of CeO2-based materials in catalysis has attracted considerable attention in recent years, particularly in applications like environmental catalysis, where ceria has shown great potential. This book critically reviews the most recent advances in the field, with the focus on both fundamental and applied issues.

Interfacial Structure and Point Defects in Ceria/Zirconia Superlattices

MRS Proceedings, 2006
AbstractWe report the results of a molecular dynamics simulation study aiming to understand the interfacial structure in ceria/zirconia superlattices and the impact of the interfaces on the energies of oxygen vacancy formation and Gd ion substitution in ceria and zirconia layers of the superlattice structure.

Thermal evolution of ceria-zirconia metallorganic precursors

Thermochimica Acta, 1982
Abstract Ceria-zirconia tetragonal solid solutions were obtained by using gelled metallorganic precursors as starting materials. By drying these gels, intimately mixed powders of a quasi-amorphous nature were obtained. On firing, the tetragonal solid solution sintered directly without any separation of the single oxides.

Oxygen sensing with mesoporous ceria–zirconia solid solutions

Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2009
Abstract Mesoporous ceria and ceria–zirconia solid solutions are synthesized and tested as an oxygen sensor. Two structures were selected for this study i.e. KIT-6 and SBA-15. Solid solutions are prepared through making replicas of synthesized mesoporous silica where these templates were impregnated with precursor materials.

Adiponitrile hydrogenation over hickel supported on ceria-zirconia and ceria-zirconia-magnesia mixed oxide catalyst

The gas phase hydrogenation of adiponitrile (ADN) to 1,6- hexamethylenediamine (HMDA) over nickel supported on ceria-zirconia and ceria-zirconia-magnesia mixed oxide catalysts was studied at atmospheric pressure. The catalysts, Ni/Ce0.75Zr0.25O2 and Ni/Ce0.75Zr0.15Mg0.20O2, were prepared via coprecipitation, followed by 15 %wt. Ni impregnation.

Crystallization of stable mesoporous zirconia and ceria-zirconia

2007
Crystallization of Mesoporous zirconia and ceria-zirconia structures were realized using a long-chain amine template. By controlled heating of the synthesis gel it was possible to prepare well-crystalline mesoporous strctures for these materials. The surface areas, mesopore ordering and thermal stabilities of the final product is dependent on the ...
