Electrochemical deposition of ceria and doped ceria films
Ceramics International, 2001Abstract Cathodic electrodeposition of CeO 2 and Ce 1− x Gd x O 2− y was performed from aqueous and mixed ethyl alcohol-water solutions of CeCl 3 and GdCl 3 on Ni foil and Ni–yttria stabilized zirconia substrates. The influence of hydrogen peroxide on the electrodeposition process was studied.

Ceria-hafnia, ceria-terbia, and ceria-praseodymia solid solutions were prepared by the citric-acid (Pechini) method and characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) for structure and coulometric titration for redox thermodynamics. Following calcination at 973 K, XRD showed that both Ce(0.5)Hf(0.5)O2 and Ce(0.8)Hf(0.2)O2 exist as single-phase solid ...

Ozonation of bezafibrate over ceria and ceria supported on carbon materials
Environmental Technology, 2014Two catalysts containing ceria dispersed on the surface of multi-walled carbon nanotubes and activated carbon were investigated as ozonation catalysts for the mineralization of bezafibrate (BZF). The results were compared with those obtained in the absence of the catalyst and in the presence of the parent carbon materials, as well as in the presence of

Water Chemistry on Model Ceria and Pt/Ceria Catalysts
The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2012We have studied the interaction of water with stoichiometric CeO2(111)/Cu(111), partially reduced CeO2–x/Cu(111), and Pt/CeO2/Cu(111) model catalysts by means of synchrotron–radiation photoelectron spectroscopy (SRPES), resonant photoemission spectroscopy (RPES) at the Ce 4d edge, infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (IRAS), and density ...

Ceria and ceria-based nanostructured materials for photoenergy applications
Nano Energy, 2017Abstract With the fast-growing populations and development, energy crisis have raised critical requirements for utilization of clean solar energy. Some effective methods to capture and convert the solar energy now include photocatalytic degradation, hydrogen production, dye-sensitized solar cells, and photocatalytic selective reaction of organic ...

Reactivity of ceria, Gd- and Nb-doped ceria to methane
Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, 2002Abstract The reactivity of methane with ceria, and ceria doped with either 10 cation% Gd, 1.4 cation% Nb, 5 cation% Nb has been investigated using temperature-programmed reaction (TPRx) and isothermal reaction at 900 °C in 5% methane in argon. The influence of the calcination atmosphere on the Nb-doped ceria has also been studied.

Sintering behaviors of ceria and gadolinia-doped ceria
Solid State Ionics, 1998Abstract Sintering behaviors of ceria powders with large and fine particle size and gadolinia-doped ceria powders with a fine particle size have been studied by measuring density and grain size as a function of sintering time. Densification rate and grain growth rate of ceria with a fine particle size were larger than those with a large particle size.
