Bar Code vs Janet tree [PDF]

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2019
In this paper we study how to compute Janet-multiplicative variables for the elements of a given finite set of terms. A comparison between Bar Codes and the Janet tree defined by Gerdt-Blinkov-Yanovich and reformulated by Seiler is given.

A computational approach to the theory of adjoints [PDF]

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2016
The word "adjoint" refers to several definitions which are not all equivalent (see, for example, Greco and Valabrega 1979, 1982): we shall deal with any of them.

Elastic deformation in ceria nanorods via a fluorite-to-rutile phase transition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Atomistic simulations reveal that ceria nanorods, under uniaxial tension, can accommodate over 6% elastic deformation. Moreover, a reversible fluorite-to- rutile phase change occurs above 6% strain for a ceria nanorod that extends along [110]. We also

Highly selective adsorption of curcuminoids by ceria and hydrated ceria

open access: yesFood Chemistry Advances, 2023
In order to better develop and utilize curcuminoids, a method with high selectivity and simple and rapid separation and enrichment of curcuminoids from turmeric should be established. In this study, hydrated ceria and ceria were first prepared, and then curcumin was used as a model compound to investigate the adsorption and separation performance of ...

Mechanical properties of ceria nanorods and nanochains; The effect of dislocations, grain-boundaries and oriented attachment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We predict that the presence of extended defects can reduce the mechanical strength of a ceria nanorod by 70%. Conversely, the pristine material can deform near its theoretical strength limit.

Liquid crystal seed nucleates liquid–solid phase change in ceria nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation was used to explore the liquid–solid (crystal) phase change of a ceria nanoparticle. The simulations reveal that the crystalline seed, which spontaneously evolves and nucleates crystallisation, is a liquid rather than

Bar code for monomial ideals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The aim of this paper is to count 0-dimensional stable and strongly stable ideals in 2 and 3 variables, given their (constant) affine Hilbert polynomial p, by means of a bijection between these ideals and some integer partitions of p, which can be ...
